look you might think your tunes are ace just going by ear,

but knowing some chords and some simple relations between notes
really does make a difference

I agree, but 95% of people who listen to music don't know about notes out of key, if it sounds good to them, they don't care lol.

No it doesn't. What you said is so dumb, it sounds like something you learned in a GNVQ Computer Music course.

It doesn't matter how much you know about chords and relations between notes. I don't know shit about music theory and why x,y,z notes go together. I don't know chords and I can't play the piano. Too many people concentrate on the theory and they can't make tunes for shit.

Open your eyes bro because you are sounding dumb. I wonder how many of the top dubstep producers, or in fact ANY electronic music producer actually has an understand of music theory? Doubt many....

Its not too important to learn all the keys I dont think.

Saying that tho the other day I showed a friend who is classically trained some Dubstep and she said the riff was noise to her and all wrong:D
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

i know loads of music theory and it dosent help you make big tunes at all. never use it. just because you know this note will go well after this one dosent mean it will sound amazing. expeshily for dubstep. if you making hardcore euphoria tho it can help.
