as historic as this is...i hope i don't see an assassination in my life time. and i'm not really looking forward to being in the South at this point, tho FL and my county were for Obama. I think things will be a lil tense here.

I read an article about Obama running for president two years ago and guess all his hard work has paid off.
Glad the majority of the U.S population made the right choice, cause its not only good for the U.S but also many other countries.
All his policies are what the people want and it made sense to vote for him.
Someone young and passionate is what america needed and hopefully the troops come back from iraq and afghanistan and he can ease the economic crises amongst other things.
Hopefully Bush doesnt do anything else to make things worse before Obama goes into office.

i'm pleased to see a black president installed finally. But i'm not sure what changes is he going to be able to bring, sadly. Green is stronger than black...

Yeah, there really is a lot of expectation on his shoulders now. I just hope that people are understanding and realise that change will not happen the second he sits down in the Oval Office. Otherwise, I dunno, things could backfire a bit.

he's mixed race, not black. i wish people would get that right as someone said this somewhere else:
"all this stuff about him being an inspirational role model for all young black kids, he's mixed race ffs, you wouldn't write he's a role model for all white kids would you, that would be patronising and ridiculous, but it'd be equally true"
why do people find it so hard to acknowledge that he is black and white?
that map of the results by party is insane - all the hillbillies voted for mccain!
i hope something good will come of this, but the usa is such a deeply divided country that some fruitloop will probably do something terrible..

i don't know, this just feels so momentous... even as an outsider looking in. i feel overwhelmed by what this means now for america and will come to mean for the future of international relations.
i'm so happy for all our american friends and fam right now. it must feel pretty amazing to be part of this.
