Lord_Qzuma wrote:"where I will showcase my favourite 30 unsigned electronic music artists" ... who are you? and why would I give a crap about YOUR favourite artists? How is your opinion or taste any more or less valid than anyone elses?
i was thinkin the same thing to. Isn't judging usually done by a panel of judges and not just one?
It sucks cause this guy is prolly gunna vanish, take down his site, use all the details we called him out on and make a whole new scam.

Mind you it's given me a great idea for a money-spinner. Much better than the midget porn racket...
Come one, come all, listen to music I like and look at some adverts - how could you refuse?

man, i thought i was a sceptical kinda guy!
1. all the participants are well aware of the need for advertisers to create the prize fund. obviously, i'm trying to sell an idea and therefore highlighting the most desirable factors. how would you suggest i promote the idea?
2. i think 190 artists is quite enough for people to listen to and vote for.
3. i thought about having a seperate page for the artists but came to the conclusion that it had no advantage. it is quite clear on the site who the artists are.
4. the voting software has not been installed on the site yet
5. to say i am more interested in personal success misses the point that if i have personal success means that 200 artists will of had massive exposure and 18 of which would win £20K each. what have you done to try and generate that kind of money for OTHER people?
6. i can only choose my favourite artists, can't i?
i'm curious,
1. how do you suggest i go about this idea?
2. what do you think of the music on the site so far?
3. what do you think i'm trying to achieve?
maybe you should contact the people that have got involved and see what they think.
the responses on this forum are the only negative ones i've had since i started.
i doubt this has helped in changing your views - i can only try!

i think i have a right to reply to all the 'slagging' off i've had.
to ozeb - i'm sorry that you feel i'm missing the point, we're obviously looking at this from totally different perspective's.
on a side note, i listened to your tracks on myspace and despite your comments i have no problem complimenting you on your productions - all 3 tracks are excellent.
to lord qzuma - unfortunately, i can only base my opinion on your comments which frankly were just downright rude and abusive.
enjoyed the banter
i guess it's up to me to prove you wrong!

you can smell a con a mile away?
i'm in the UK!
Sorry, i couldn't resist.
on a serious note, i can assure you this is not a con or a scam.
the only person that stands to lose anything at all is me.
you can argue the point that it's a stupid idea or it'll never work or it's badly organised etc. - but a con/scam it most certainly isn't.

Get lost you con..

you keep saying it's a con but you don't say what the con is?
if the project is a success then some unsigned artists get some exposure and win some prize money and i get paid for my time and effort by the advertisers.
if the project is a failure then the artists lose nothing , neither time nor money, and i end up working for free for 9 months.
great con!
if you're just going to be rude and not have anything to back up your opinion - then that says alot about the kind of person you are.
who's the con?

it seems to me that you think because i'm looking to make a profit from this project that there's something wrong with that?
record labels promote poeples music with a view to making a profit for themselves - what's the difference?
anything you've ever bought in your life was sold to you by people making money on the back of someone else.
in this case, i'm not asking for a penny or anything from the artists and yet if the project is successful - they all get lots of free exposure and 18 of them win some money.
is it the businesses that advertise that you feel sorry for?
these are the only people who have anything to lose, apart from me.
the original 'pixel' guy did not get sued (there's nothing illegal about selling advertising space) , the hackers did not like the fact that he made so much money (again, why they should feel sorry for the advertisers is anyone's guess)
why are you so against the idea?
it's definitely not illegal - why would it be?
it's not a con/scam - how could it be?
i'm not deceiving anyone - all the info is clearly on the website.
while i try to answer most of the arguments thrown at me, it seems to me that few of my questions are ever answered contructively.
