The only good thing about it is you can scroll through your minimised windows in a cool graphics way. And that is scraping the barrel.

I do NOT like vista... For two fucking days i tried to run an s-video connection to my tv. I learned recently that Microsoft has implemented "Content Protection" with the OS. Which means i have spent two days and a lot of effort to fix the problem, only to find out that Microsoft has limited the freedom of an operating system.

Vista

Post by dj reaction uk » Mon Dec 22, 2008 1:59 pm

Vista is my step into a true consumer 64 bit os not like the xp 64bit partial "hack".

So Vista is good for me but i can appreciate how people don't like it when their old hardware etc.. isn't compatible yet!:(

Can't kill porcesses in task manager. Crashes After Effects 5 times a day. Incredibly unstable iSCSI. Crashes on network file transfers over 150Mb. blah blah blah.

If wasn't for the fact I need 64bit 3DSMax and Syntheyes then I'd go for XP everyday, it's shite. It could be really really good if they'd take off crap features like trying to solve crashed programs instead of just letting you kill processes, if I wanted a shite fisher price operating system that treated me like a fucking moron I'd buy a Mac.

I run vista with a E8400 overclocked to 3.6ghz, 4 gig of ram, hooked all through a 9800 GX2 1gig...

never had a single problem running anything, never crashes, never locks up, no BSOD. Crysis at 60 fps with everything on high. boo-yaa.

I wish it was, it crashed 15 times on me on Monday over 2 different PCs and the networking is terrible. I'm sure it's great for home use but it's far too flakey to run a graphics network on, XP still wins for that.

nah its really not! its fucking HASSLE getting it to speak to my XP laptop. it'll play a few old games, but trying to play them on the internet or over a LAN is a really quick way to piss yourself off.

backwards compatibility is the ONE for me. i don't give a fuck how much new shit its got if i can't run my old stuff!
