shredexx wrote:All of the above mentioned artists are sick. You should also check out some of the minimal techno where the sound of a lot of these guys spur from... Stuff like Basic Channel, and Rhythm and Sound... anything by Moritz von Oswald really... such a badman.
This.

I'd also have to add Deadbeat and Pole to it as well.

Wow!
Baaad thread.
I'm all over the techno influence on dubstep fo' reall.

So who's this richie hawtin guy mentioned at the beginning of the thread, worth looking into for the minimal lovers?
Also 'F' deserves a worthy mention, sick deep vibes fresh out of France.

Going to make some more purchases, courtesy of this thread.
Gwarn.

I dunno that I'd call it Minimal Techno influenced.. more like swedish techno influence. But none the less, DO NOT PASS UP 7EVEN!!!
7even are doing the rounds though, biggest label around for this kind of sound in my veiw.

Oh...and you may want to check:

Dub Specialists
Higher Intelligence Agency
Biosphere
21st Century Aura
Dub Tractor
Opiate
Deep Space Network
The Starseeds
Banco De Gaia
Sounds From The Ground
Autechre(loads of it was proto-dubstep)

I mix a lot of tunes from people like this with dubstep.

In fact,a lot of what you're looking for has already been done, just not at a strict 140 bpm,but just as dark, subby, dubby, and minimal.

I make a distinction.
Not so much into the Appleblim/Joker techy ds
as the Headhunter/ItaL TeK minimal ds
I know minimal has gained a certain meaning in association with house but that too readily incorporates facile disco
but I like to think of stripped back 2-step as minimal (probably better thought of as essential now that I think of it)
