Abs wrote:Basicly, you'll have probably seen most of the films mentioned, so look out for this one.. it's called 'If...'
it's got Malcolm Mcdowell in it, was filmed in 1968 in a boarding school, it shows them putting up with all the shit and general life in the school, then they eventually pull off this massive armed resistence... good stuff, cult classic.
"If..." is BRILLIANT. I first saw it with my Dad when it was on TV at some point, but bought it on DVD recently when I saw it on special offer. Absolutely amazing film.

Clint Eastwood is a badman.

Dustin Hoffman gets it tight in Devon in the 70s.

Talking of Hoffman; an Oscar-worthy performance alongside the not-living legend who is (was) Steve McQueen.

interested by this. what's it like? that J-Lo one he did (
The Cell?) was actually alright (i think - it was ages ago when I saw it).
IT IS AMAZING. cannot recommend it strongly enough.
think visual feast, akin to hero (have you seen that?), combined with an awesome narrative, beautiful actors (gorgeous little italian girl is incredible in it) and you have one brilliant film.
the gorgeous little girl is actually Romanian.
Latin language so it's similar but yet the differences are huge.
also, I enjoyed rocknrolla from the most recent ones. haven't read all the thread, sorry if already mentioned.

..If so.. than I would highly suggest The Devils with Vanessa Redgrave..It is based on the book The Devils of Loudon by Huxley..NONFICTION and is a very early example of..hmmm..
..societies and powers misguided and run amok... mixed in with alot of pseudo religion, "self-appointed" mysticism..and disasterously stupid oligarchy..

thankyou for the clarification. isn't she gorgeous in the film. i wonder how much of each scene was unscripted? she seemed incredibly natural.
