So what you sayin'? I probably said that somewhere.... Certain aspects of music I like but then other aspects of a song I might not like. If you switched up the singer with someone who has a good voice (in my opinion), I might be a fan. Maybe put the guy from Shadows Fall in there, then I would like it.
just a little satirical commentary from what you hear from a lot of people who want to generalize dubstep

New song in the studio, no vocals
Sounds High On Fire'esque.
Amazing.

Checked the snippet of the new stuff I posted?
Oh wow, you're Dutch. Ever seen 'em live? I've only seen them once in Arnhem in 2005...

I think J's lost his voice, poor guy, but he still gives good performances. Plus, the band is so tight.
Slightly jealous.

Don't be. I forever maintain that Genghis Tron are one of the least essential bands to ever emerge. I just can't see what people find fascinating about them. To me, they're like... only SLIGHTLY above Enter Shikari.

i grew up in the hc sceen and converge is def one of my favoite bands of all time. too intense live and they manage to convey huge amount of tensions and emotion thru a wall of sound. i personally find similarities with hardcore/metal and dubstep.

For the fiends! Converge put a new song up
It's the finished version of the new tune I posted earlier in the thread.
New record will hit the shelves in October. Can't wait.

Two completely different styles of metalcore. It wouldn't work at all. Jacobs vocals add to the already ridiculous amount of sheer aural chaos going on in their songs and for me at least, I consider his vocals to be just another instrument.
I finally got to see these dudes last year at the Underworld in Camden with Integrity/Coliseum/Centurions Ghost. I have never stagedived as much in all the shows I've been too as I did that night. They also played the song Jane Doe in its entirity. BOOM.

Converge is one of, if not the only band from the nu-skool hardcore/grindcore/core generation I actually LIKE! Otherwise most of those bands are just emos ripping of At The Gates...sorry to say, lol.

'Metalcore' doesn't seem to exist. If people want to call shit like Rorschach and Integrity and shit 'metalcore', cool, but I don't see how melodic death metal'ish bands like Unearth and Killswitch Engage fit in there either. Or how shit like the Dillinger Escape Plan do (sound a lot more like 'Time Does Not Heal' era Dark Angel and Gorguts).
Converge is way more metal starting with 'The Poacher Diaries' than hardcore. Man, when I think of hardcore, I think of Despise You, Gauze, Hellnation, Capitalist Casualties, Yacopsae. Not a band playing stoner metal and thrash metal riffs, backed by an insane drummer who plays more fills than anything. o.o
Love Converge.
Having said that, I could never get into melodic DM, including At The Gates or 'Heartwork' era Carcass.
