the cleanest amens I have
Who's talking about looping it? I make breakcore and I don't just loop a distorted Amen break with a gabber kick on top of it. I cut that badboy up. I love the tone and the way you can rearrange it. I've tried all sorts of drum breaks from metal to jazz and so on, but nothing works better than a good ol' Amen when it comes to using sample offset commands to completely change that break and make it your own.HiggzBozon wrote:Ok nice... But why is everybody lookin for this break??
If everybody is using.. WHY would u want to use it again??
I have like 5000 drum breaks and hardly use them...
Sorry to go a bit off topic but i just don't get the whole "amen"loop shit...
It's nice but there are much much better...
And to the heads saying it's Jungle Warefare: thhank you very much.

That's what makes the break truly interesting anyway. It's really fucking boring in most modern drum n bass where the producer just loops a section of it and pastes a jump-up rhythm played by a 909 over it and plays with automating a filter in the intro. Occasional looping is good, but what makes the Amen so great is the way you can totally rearrange it.Hurtdeer wrote:with the exception of when it's just the loop completely unedited, I still hear people use amens in completely fresh ways... tired drum and bass tracks overuse them in a really boring way, but the cut-up variations of it found in breakcore and some jungle tracks (and one or two dubstep tracks i've heard) always sound pretty good to meBrisance wrote:Fuck the golden ratio. While amen sounds great, it's WAY over-used.Caeraphym wrote:Higgz: Not every drum break happens to be built around the golden ratio, either by chance or intelligent design

Im not talking about looping it. I'm also talking about using the sounds. If everyone is using something i will just never use it again. I mean c'mon you
really want to use the same snare and kick or whatever like everybody else..? I layer my own sampled drums and make my own...
And to be totally onest, there's no snare or kick in whole musical universe that i will like best...
Obviously there's something special about this break..
I just don't see it, hear it or whatever.. Golden ratio my ass..
Im off to make music.. peace

Having obtained the Zero G amen, I can say it isn't actually an exact copy of the original....
Also, the cymbal is lower and generally more crunchy - like a Tech Itch version of the amen.

Truly, your best bet is to record the original and slice it yourself. With the midi slices, you'll be able to replace the drums to something closer to your needs.
