i understand where you are coming from. you want it to be treated with the love you feel it deserves.
but it is also hard to make statements like what you made without having it come out wrong, no matter how you phrase it
just sayin

How many times have you actually been to dubstep events? Have you seen the diversity of people there? The first time i went to DMZ I remember seeing what appeared to father and son standing next to each other (deapoh can back me up on this), nothing wrong with that.
Regarding dubstep getting played out of tinny phones, to be honest i dont think many people would like to listen to that kinda sound quality once they had been to a couple good dances where the true sound can be experienced, and even if it was the case I personally would prefer it to the same couple of Rnb / crunk / sean paul songs that get rinsed on all the busses i get on

That 1st post is very close to sounding snobish and elitist. Thats not what this music or any other is about. You have no control over who listens to this music. If people you don't like start listening to it, tough shit. What are you gonna do? Create a scene that consists of you and ya muical snob friends?

i for one like the idea of dubstep blaring out of subbed up cars
innit. And the assumption that these people will only bring bad vibes is mediaval. Fix up.

Haha what a thread!
What I have gathered so far is that a 13 year old kid wearing Nike attire. Was spotted in a youth club in Wales nodding his head along to a Dubstep tune, This may spell trouble for Dubstep as he may tell his brother (if he has one) who drive a Saxo (if he has a brother and a brother who drives a Saxo) to check out Dubstep, because the other day he discovered a sound that made him nod his head, very much in the way the dog nods his head in the Churchill car insurance advert.
Do you reckon the brother who drives a Saxo and listens to his brother advice when purchasing music is insured by Churchill?

I WANT THAT.
when N Type and Walsh played in Brussels i asked my mother weeks before if she wanted to go aswell, partially because we needed a ride but also because i thought she might be into it.
i've been with my mother to celebrate my birthday at a reggae/ragga party and she danced untill 5 am while my sister wanted to leave, there was even an English speaking student getting to hear asking "if she spoke English" (and probably hoping much more than that).
i've also been to a bar in Brussels with her, my girlfriend and a mate, so 3 twentiers and a mother chilling on dnb and jungle vibes.
and then she also came to the first small dnb night i organised.
if you're ashamed of your parents they might aswell not be your real parents

what did you expect? it happened to grime, it happend to dnb, it happened to 2-step. it will happen to dubstep, then in a few years something new will come along and they will all migrate to the the trend.

so you only want certain people from a certain background to enjoy dubstep.
One of the best things about the seen is that there is such a diverse lot of people involved. Just because someone dresses in a certain way does not mean they are gonna start fights.
I'm not saying that all people who dress like a townie or whatever are gonna start fights I have quite a few mates who do exactly that but I also know a lot of people as I'm sure you all do who are just lookin for trouble
