This is something that I don't understand. Some things sound louder than others at the same db. I would like to understand this.
I'm gonna keep this alive because this is actually a valid question. If you look at the waves in a frequency analyser, I'd imagine that the louder sounding patches are not a pure sine, and have extra harmonics to make it sound beefier.

Yeh alright cuntsey, you're obviously quite a critic then as you're constantly picking up on little things on threads that people 'might need putting in their place about'.

I already said I'd got my satisfaction from this thread, didn't need your input.

Now obviously I know people other than producers listen to music. The fact is I had ONE person saying about this and wanted producers feedback on the matter, not stnuc feedback, producers feedback.

Next time I post a thread, save yourself from replying.

slightly different question...

how come some sub notes, often just one note apart are so much louder than others on my subs? doesnt make any sense i swear. obviously u can just fix it with automation but why does it do it?

good question

I don't have an answer as to why?? (really some notes just hit in different places in the room)

I found a couple of bass patches that have some kinda compression that keeps all the notes the same

like a patch called SubFive for the Emu EmulatorX2

that is my work around

and if you don't have the EmulatorX2, it also works on the ProteusVX which is free

and the patch ishere

I was that day to be honest... Should really apologise but I still believe he's too arrogant to deserve an apology.
