like glottis5 said, starkey's stuff as moves!!! is ace, although that's closer to bassline. his track 'spacewalk' also has that 4/4 feel

12th planet - sulfur

is amazing, bashy tribal 4/4 stepper.

it's just the one single track but i'm certain it's what you are looking for!

Mr.James Barth aka Cari Lekebusch is one BIG producer. Techno superstar and that track was originally put out on the nowadays legendary label "SVEK" on his album Stealin' Music.

Sick track and deffo check out the album.
Too bad he don't use that alias today :( I love Barth.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Just to reiterate, I'm more keen to hear stuff thats got a deeper (yeah, I hate the term too, but you know what I mean) feel to it.

That DJG tune is probably the pick of the suggestions so far for me. Keep 'em coming - thanks for the feedback.

Still, other than Bunker, none of these suggestions are really what I'm after.

Thanks anyway - Bunker is ace!

i did a mix a few months back which was pretty heavily 4/4 in that vein. here's some selections from the tracklist that would probably fit the bill:

Locus Lotus Headhunter
Emotions Benga
Focus Dusk & Blackdown
One For The Heads Who Remember Skream
Suburbia Martyn
Den of Drumz Kode 9 vs. Badawi
Solitary Drop Zed Bias
Brass Eye (Reso Remix) Mike Lennon
When Science Fails (Hektagon Remix) (Remix) Mike Lennon
Ruptured (Surgeon remix) Scuba
She Made It Easy (Reso's 2099 Mix) Kotchy
Axis Headhunter
Morvern 2562
For Withered Friends (Mumdance & High Rankin Remix) Daedelus
