blu-ray = HD

the difference is clear to me. Depth, textures...
wish it wasn't so expensive

I meet a lot of people who think Blu-ray is supposed to be better than HD or something.

Blu-ray is one of the only hardware formats that can handle HD and nothing more.

You can get HD audio and video from other sources like your cable/satalite box or the internet, but the audio/video industry is not keen on change so I can't see them switching to streaming or downloads en masse just yet.

It will happen enventually, but for now Blu-ray really is the leading legal source of HD movies.

Downloaded this the other day:

Quantum.of.Solace.1080p.BluRay.x264-REFiNED 8.78GB :o

Nearly 9GB...... where as if I download it in xvid it is 699MB and it's still good quality. The picture and sounds is very good but I don't think I can justify the nearly 10GB of a download when I can download the same film for less than 1GB. So I'll download the odd film in HD, films I really like and enjoy but I am sticking with xvid for now.
