Well I'd say its usually a square wave with a 'squeltchy' resonant lfo on it playing a pattern that accentuates the feeling of wobbling around. I think what you're doing is confusing lfo with wobble. Or do you think that synthesizers should start replacing lfo with the word 'wobble'?String wrote:You've made dnb for long enough, i know you know what it is!NERO - Dan wrote:What is a wobble?String wrote:NERO - Dan wrote:THE-VOICE-OF-REASON wrote:Fucking hell they raped that tune , Nero make music that's the lowest common denominator. Funny thing is that their wobble at 170 is considered shit but their wobble at 140 is considered innovative!?!
In what way is that bass a wobble?
Pretty obvious its just generic wobble pattern
Well thankfully MJ Cole doesn't share your view.Blackdown wrote:Why the fuck would you want to do that to Sincere?
yeah I think it should be replaced with the word 'wobble', just so that all good producers know to keep the fuck away from itNERO - Dan wrote:Well I'd say its usually a square wave with a 'squeltchy' resonant lfo on it playing a pattern that accentuates the feeling of wobbling around. exactly. its a memories thing. so many good memories. that whole sincere album is that 99' summer sound for many people. the height of UKG. another thing is that the wookie and jazzanova remixes are still untouchable because they flipped the original tune on its head. it was such a big tune that you've got to accept that people will have nostalgia attached to it.Blackdown wrote: many people have a strong attachment to Sincere

because Blackdown weighed in on the topic, and whilst I have a great respect for Blackdown and find I agree with most of his views, seckle wrote:exactly. its a memories thing. so many good memories. that whole sincere album is that 99' summer sound for many people. the height of UKG. another thing is that the wookie and jazzanova remixes are still untouchable because they flipped the original tune on its head. it was such a big tune that you've got to accept that people will have nostalgia attached to it.Blackdown wrote: many people have a strong attachment to Sincere

also, why would you defend your own remix on a internet forum? whats the point in that. let the remix do the talking!!
Exactly. This remix is shit. MJ Cole can like whatever he wants. He can also make a good tune or a bad tune just like anyone. That doesn't mean I take his opinion, even on a remix of his own tune, to be fact. It's an opinion.THE-VOICE-OF-REASON wrote:people who have some influence should actually speak up once in a while and stop playing the political silence game.

i don't see how this can be called generic at all. sure, we've heard that bass before, but since when were low frequencies a field of innovation? sine waves never change.
you rarely hear reverb and delay used so effectively (but still in such a simple way), and the mid-range synth carries the harmonies but still hits hard for the dancefloor.
also, there are already plenty of tunes with drum patterns like that, but in this context they bring together the bar9 shuffled dubstep hype and the shuffled vibes in garage, so its completely justified (in fact it would be a sin not to use it)
sorry that was all a bit boomkat-blurb-ey! out to nero, i think this is a fucking fantastic remix.
ps what wobble?
