Well I do most of my drums in audio so straight away that's a couple of kick tracks, 2 or 3 snare tracks, a couple of hi hat tracks and a few percussion tracks. There may also be a midi track for more drums/percussion from battery which may then output to several mixer channels/automation tracks. All that gets stuck into a folder.

Then there's bass, I normally end up with 3 or 4 tracks for my bass.

The some pads, melodies, blips & bloops and finally some effects.

It varies alot from project to project but usually I end up with quite a few dense tracks such as the drums, bass & pads, then I have a load of sparse ones for effects and stuff.

just finished a tune today - 35 channels + 14 buses. which is roughly normal for me...
