Considering most of us use DAW's, our music is literally all a string of 1's and 0's at least, let alone breaking things down into regions, quantization, tempo's, swing's, etc. So yes, I use math quite often :D

-as mentioned figuring out harmonics (for eq purposes)
-song structure (try not to but im too scientifically orientated sigh)

In terms of playing around with musical patterns and finding a balance, maths is at the core of music. Which is really the only extent to which I use maths in music.....But as soon as music lacks that pattern based structure it sooner becomes noise.

I remember back in my metal days sitting down and analysing beat patterns of Meshuggah :6: wondering wtf was with their syncopated rhythms and how the fuck they came up with their shit..........
