There being exposed to like, the shite side of dubstep and not the actual good shit.
If these people have integrity they will seek out the good music and these days its so much more accessible. Don't worry for these people, one day they might find this forum.
...only to be scared off by the ammount of negativity, saying to theirselves "I would have never bothered with dubstep if I would have known the people that listen to it are such whining pricks" innit.

His bonkers remix was big, don't care what anyone says. The rest however.... not so much,

He used to do alot of techno, i know he runs one of the biggest events in ibiza - he's been playing with kissy sell out, zane lowe etc.

Doubt he will go full time with dubstep, he just does the odd dubstep remix here and there - the bulk of it simply isnt good enough for people to worry about him 'ruining dubstep'.......

If one untalented person is able to bring down a scene using bad music alone, then that scene deserved to be put under.

one thing this community shares with dnb is the constant complaining about how dubstep is being ruined.. and how it's "not the same as it was".. lol typical i guess.. i should sell dubstep tissues to help all the tears.. but that would be too commercial im sure.. this doorly shit does suck for the most part, but it's not ruining dubstep, just press stop.

He's made dubstep versions of current chart favourites, pure attention grabbing material.

I got told he doesn't produce the tracks himself anyway, he has an engineer who does it all for him.

Like it or not, i think a lot of it was done to boost his profile, rather than a love of dub.

enough with all the fucking hating already.

just because it isn't mala or skream, doesnt mean that it's bad.

the tracks he makes serve a purpose, and when you got a crowd who normally listen to mainstream music and you drop the bonkers or the calvin harris remix, trust me, place will go off.

in my opinion doorly is doing the exact oposite of ruining dubstep, he's making dubstep more accesable to a bigger crowd, and that's a good thing.

But none of that equals one man destroying a genre

You lot sound like some hysterical emos

Hasn't it occurred to you that every underground genre needs it's pop/crossover/sell-out (delete as applicable) artists? That maybe they serve as a gateway to the deeper/proper stuff? Cos fuck knows my love affair with hip hop might never have started without Coolio lol
And can any of the negative heads actually address this??

I never said he was ruining dubstep, more provided my thoughts on what he's doing.

As said, one man (and his engineer) cant ruin a genre, it just ends up consuming itself.

as long as the DJ's still push the sound, yes it is.

people need to stop bitching about Caspa and Rusko, about "commercial" dubstep, about Chase and Status and Snoop Dogg, etcetera.

nobody is forcing you to play that stuff, but if someone hears it on youtube and decides to go to a dubstep-party because of it, YES, that's a good thing.

thats a different thing to making it more accessible tho. I agree if it gets people into the sound then that is a good thing but people shouldnt make tunes just because they are accessible to the mainstream. The sound shouldnt have to be changed so that it appeals to the masses, and i think some people get offended by that idea as its sort of a kick in the face to the sound that they love.

The problem is that these type of tunes begin to become the face of the genre and what people consider the be all and end all, and the majority of the new crowd will go to dubstep partys and expect a whole night of it. The 'better' or 'deeper' side of the sound then becomes second string (i.e in the second room at big nights). I think thats what peoples major problem is with this sort of thing.

im not saying this dude is ruining anything, and think that is just a stupid thing to say tbh. i dont care if people make these kind of tunes really, as long as some people get enjoyment out of it, thats the bottom line. Theres always gonna be sick dubstep about whatever.

(not sure if i getting my point across properlly)
