The sunday's a killer though....

Fair enuff, I can see your options been rather limited tbh. For me, jump-up/wobblefest dubstep, whatever you want to call it, is absolutely perfect for a night out. Big heavy speakers, you can just go off on a mad'un.Genevieve wrote:Twice per year. I'd do it more often, but I'm not into wobbly jump-up type dubstep.
Where-as at home I doesn't grab me as much, so i listen to more chilled, moodier or reggae dubstep instead
Maybe i should do a HOW do you brukkout thread, my mashed up shapping throw gunfingers got a few intimators the other night

This...minus a few years.bassmonk wrote:As I'm a bit of an old git now, probably just over once a month or so.Not cos I haven't got the stamina anymore you cheeky young pups, mainly because after almost 18 years I don't feel the same urge to rave it up every night. When I do got out though I make damn sure it's a goodun.

I can only stand dancing to the same song so many times... my problem with jump-up is more how the formula has been overdone a million times where most songs are pretty much the same..OneLove. wrote:Fair enuff, I can see your options been rather limited tbh. I agree that in a live situation, it can be mad fun. But it's done so often and so much and it's all so incredibly similar/formulaic, that it loses its charm rather quickly. Much like a lot of modern dnb. You know, predictable toying with filters, jump-up dnb rhythm, reese reese reese. All that shit. By no means music I would listen to, but it was at one point fun to just be a hedonist to, but that formula just gets old so damn fast, can't really go and have fun to it anymore.
I don't see the point in over saturating everything in wobble. I mean, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose as far as dancability goes?
Breakcore, non-jump-up dubstep, hip-hop... When decent black metal is playing, that too..OneLove. wrote:Maybe i should do a HOW do you brukkout thread, my mashed up shapping throw gunfingers got a few intimators the other night

Was brocking hard earlier this year and last but cut down lately. Suddenly too many big nights where everybody plays, getting kinda samey. Need to break it up a bit.
Need to get back into the FWD groove again, not been for aaaaaages! They switch it up good.

rubberdub is also sposed to be starting back up in september, used to head down there regularly so theres plenty to do in notts
also I'm the opposite, I tend to listen to jump upy stuff at home but can appreciate the more mellowy stuff live when theres enough sub power around
