Only if you treat it as such. Renoise has helped tremendously in inspiring me musically.
Regardless, while Renoise is my favorite DAW, I don't think it's particularly innovative. It builds on where Fast Tracker left off, adding features that have become standard in sequencers that have until recently been neglected by trackers. It's mostly combining the best of both worlds more than it innovates........
I don't think there's an inherit advantage to using Renoise, though. I guess it's just a matter of what feels best to use.

yea man i respect the program, its definitely the highest quality tracker i have seen, but its not really that innovative, just perfected what came before

Which of course are the roots and origins of FL Studio.
Plenty of well known songs from the Rave era were made by people who embraced the do-it-yourself ethic and were creating top tunes which were homemade on their Ataris and Amigas.
Just like several of the current Dubstep acts started out by making up their own music from their bedrooms with FL Studio.
