the hat's dont go out of time, they just change time signature. its easier to mix than it sounds (as it sounds insane and next level).
Sounds more like a quantize value shift to me. But whatever - badassed tune.

Lean FWD gets my shoulders every time. I've just gotta bust some kind of groove to it. We need more Mala releases, roll on DMZ 11

I know it's in 4/4, but the hats and the delay on the snare move between being in 4 and being triplets
very simple but super bad
sorry
enough with the riddim geek-off already

Being in triplets has nothing to do with the actual time signature of the music though. It's easy to mix because it's in 4/4... and because the intro is just hi hats

Bollocks. the hats are in 4/4 to begin with and then switch to 12/8. 12/8 and 4/4 overlay each other easily (hence Andy's C Bodyrock and Lanslide's Unforscene remix from a few years ago).
and yeah that sounds geeky but i mixed it off Transition 10" 'plate in Tokyo this summer having never tried it before so shuuutyamouts! hehe

its interesting, but this thread is jokes.
problem with drums in triplets / 12/8 though is that laid over standard 4/4 they often sound horrible, regardless of the fact that theyre beatmatched.
but sick still, all about the innovation, first time i heard this i didnt know what was happening

nah ofc not lol
it's straightforward 4 hats in a bar switches to 3 hats in a bar. quavers to triplets. there's a record stop/start effect at the end of every 8 bars which sorts the transition to the next 8 that throws ppl off i think. a real time signature switch would be genuinely mental
