Both sound dope, don't have good ears on me to coment on the low end.
Only thing I would do is change the riffs up more and maybe more sounds.

I'd like more feed back on the mastering mixdown side of things than the music. but all feed back is welcome.
The top too songs are the same but mixed differently can you tell me witch one is better to you?

The songs are good, but yeah the mixdown is a lil muffled. On my speakers it sounds too bright, just a tad... Maybe your monitors at home arent so bright?
The bass lacks some low end on my system. Try adding some subtle saturation to them, and then getting some parallel compression on the go. Cushty!

This is a bootleg... or is it a remix... or re-edit?... Of one of my all time fav tunes:- It could be sweet by Portishead.

Let me know how your feeling it :)

Seems a tad repetitive, I think the intro sounds would sound more natural and pleasing with more verb (preference).
Production seems clean/crisp.

could you elaborate on what you think is repetitive about it? i.e. what elements, etc.

nice man thanks! I got rocket 6's and the 10" sub.
Yeah i was having trouble with the bass. I had it sitting where I wanted it and tested it out in a buddies carr and it was overwhelming. so I adjusted accordigly, maybe his carr was just fucked. but kool ill turn that shit up and the hights down. still gotta get my room set up right.

The bass riff mainley, seemed the same threw the whole song.

cool thanks man...not really sure what to do about that, it seems like there's very few tunes out there that actually change the bass riff. but if it sounds repetitive to you, it maybe means there's something wrong with it in the first place...

Honestly I think that about allot of songs, tons of shit is like that I wouldn't take it too hard or anything my songs are repetitive too it's somthing i'm workin on.
I'm gonna start trying to have two riffs before the breakdown and two different ones after. my favourite songs usually change up the riffs and I can't see that being bad in anyway really.

Sup people. Heres one i made from a bob marley interview. I was looking to go in a different direction but it came out quite chilled.
Tell us what you think

Yeoku I really like it, wicked dark vibe you got going there. Those synths are nice. Only thing i could say is maybe some more drum variation. That hat is a bit too consistent for my liking but otherwise cool tune!

Cloak and dagger: Sweet drums! I was thinking maybe slow the wobble down at some points, you probably have tried this already though... Like everything else though

How do you post soundcloud stuff properly? First try sry

Hey Man,

I had a good listen and have to say I'm not overwhelmed, when we get into the main part it is a nice head nodder, and am definetly feeling the arps - but the voice just doesnt sit right with the song imo, too slow and twisted to fit with a very clean rest of the song.

Liking the drums though, especially the extremely panned echoey hits which drop every now and again.

Hey,

Erm, well, can tell that you are reasonably new to this :)

The intro sounds are good imo, kick is solid, however the snare is goddawful and really kills the mood, if you layered a crisper one underneath those hits and compressed them together a touch it would add alot of lift. Also I was expecting a change in the drum through the intro to add some tension, an off beat hi hat would do this very nicely.

The sample used was very steretypical, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but does sound as if your trying to do a Rusko rip off.

The main tune was not very nice to listen to, nothing tied together, like the pad, bass, and drums were written sperately and then stuffed together; they don't play off of one another (i.e. in a lull in the bass there is something interesting happening with the drums) and your bass technique needs to go along way to get something sounding nicer and cleaner - there are plenty of articles on DSF which can help with experimenting in this area, try searching for Basic A's post in the 'Vocal Basses' thread.

Also there was not enough variation to warrant the extended sections, cut them in half and play with things other than LFO rate and it will be more exciting to listen to.

Keep on trying though mate and good luck!

Her really liked this one! Lovely and chilled, real jamaican feel to it, definetly a song to fall asleep to stoned.

Major postives: all of the high parts during the main part of the song, really set the mood

Major negatives: the mid bass sound feels a bit .... i dunno ..... sad? for the rest of the track to be so bubbly and uplifting it counterbalances it in an odd way - don't really know how to remdy that but it sits strangely.

Drums during the intro really drew me in, lots going on but none of it overpowering - as the main is not drastically different from the intro though I think a build up would be better than the seconds silence of seperation (phew lots of sibilance there!) that you gave.

Keep up the work though, I'm loving the sub rollers atm!

i like the beats on this one a lot, the sub drives the track well, but i feel the track lacks a real melody, like a hook or something, just personal taste though i guess

also i dont know if its a final and complete version, but i think u could lenghten the track a bit and use the glitchy vocal samples in the end in a breakdown

Thanks for the feedback man, I appreciate your thoughts!

As for your tune, it's not really my cup of tea, so take everything with a grain of salt.

I feel like it's a good start, but it needs something a little more...the main melody should be in the background and support something a little more complex over it.

The drum pattern is cool, but I feel like it doesn't work so well with these sounds; the tails are too long, but I feel like it could benefit from some gaps / silence in there a little. It would make it a little less muddy as well.

The bass sounds fine, I wouldn't mess with that.

Overall a good start! If you feel like it's complete, I would shelve it for now and come back to it at some point down the line and see how you feel about it (works for me a lot).
