even if your tunes are solid (they sounded pretty decent to me) it's pretty weak to use this thread to self promote.

I dont think its really promoting when its as out there as it is

I didn't want to start a new thread for such a simple question, so I figured this is as good a place to ask as there is, so: I'm soon to be a bedroom DJ (been saving my money for like 2 years to buy my setup so I can start practicing) and I'll soon be moving to a university where I'm almost sure to find a market for parties/ DJing until I can move up to playing clubs, etc. Anyways, my question is- since I haven't included a true system into the setup I'm saving for, would studio speakers be alright for using to DJ house parties? I'm assuming I won't run into some people with nice systems with good subs, so I'm planning on having to lug my KRK Rokits around for my first few parties at least. Would this work out alright, or should I stay away from doing this? I'd really appreciate some proper advice from someone who knows what they're talking about... Thanks in advance and sorry if this is the wrong place to ask :/

So, I have a question. See, I've only heard a little bit of old school dub, and I like it, it's really good and really mellow. My question is, does enjoying the new stuff such as Bassnectar, Mt.Eden, Skrillex, Dowlink, Cookie Monsta, etc. make me any less of a dubstep fan than you? I'm not trying to hate or disrespect, it just seems like the people who've listened longer DISPISE the newcomers, such as myself. I get it though, I respect you guys, you paved the road for us and every part of this little culture we have is because of folks like you.

this thread isn't for debate, it's for tunes

if you are looking to honestly talk about such debates, there are plenty of threads in the forums to do so in

but in short, do your own thing - dubstep purist or not, who wants to listen to what people call 'the real dubstep' tracks if they dont connect with you?
