i kinda feel dubstep is having a bit of a lull and has been for some time but it is easy to fix...

all that needs to happen is for the producers to start looking ells where for there influences. start looking in to dark deep house, electro, breakbeat, trance, broken beat, jazz, blues, minimal, downbeat techno ect.

with in these music styles there are so many sounds and synthes, bass ect that if applied to dubstep would work so well and can offer so much to dubstep.

dubstep has the space to drew from what people have lurnt in over music genre's. people just need to forget there misconceptions and stigma that surrounds music they think they dont like when they really never have explored and research it properly.

for me dubsteps biggest mistake was setting a wobbly bass as a standared trademark.

I dunno about all that. I suggested that maybe dubstep needs a few jazzy elements such as more horns and maybe one of those sweep drum things and I was told I didn't know what I was talking about and that would be a bad idea.

I'm sure I read a different journalist saying dubstep would rise 15% in the first half of 2007.

Lots of first time buyers entering the market but a shortage of new dubstep coming up for sale may slow growth in the third quarter.

Most recordbuyers/club punters/fans of the music buy stuff from across the board at the moment, and for those that only have released tunes (vinyl/MP3) in their record bag are mixing all these styles together as well.

Certainly I like to mix it up, and I like to hear it mixed up as well.

Yeah, you either go out to a night and its completely DMZ/Loefah etc type stuff mixed in with things that sound a tad grimey. Or the complete opposite. Definately needs to be both more often at clubs. When mixing I love to mix all the styles together. When we do our small night we're planning, we're gonna mix it up like that, gotta be done.

yeh i do agree with this, what were trying to do with square roots really have all different styles etc
