^Have to agree with that... used to submit tunes here quite regularly, but the themes rule has pretty much stopped me cos whatever theme it is, it always seems to be the complete opposite of what I want to make at the moment
I see why you do the theme, it does provide a challenge; but it also limits producers a lot, especially when most of us dont even sit down with the intention of making anything that scripts to only certain moods

The themes will stay, they are there for a reason
No can't go posting wips in here all willy nilly
There is a poll in another thread that has a potential idea to increase the numbers

I completely understand why you want the themes but honestly its not like they are stuck too is it.Loosely isn't the word for the way the themes are followed.
Also turning it into a whip thread is just a joke thats what the wip/feedback thread is for.
The biggest turn out the tuna week thread had was when people were just making music and that in itself helps people up their game.
Honestly ehbs keep it themed based it will fail as it is already because all your doing is putting constraints on peoples creativity.
I've had a break for a bit because of work and life pressures but i'm back on it soon, got a project to finish for a dance troupe and then i'm gonna join back in theme or no theme.
Also 2 weeks......really?The thread will fall down the board far to often and become an after thought.I would personally look at how sonika kept it running so consistent and stick to them guidelines because no matter what it run for so long and had a pretty decent enough turn out week by week albeit some shit ones here and there.

Themes will stay as inspiration no mandatory
As of right now the poll is divided on whether it not to keep it or scrap it completely

Its up to you,for me the reason it didn't work before was the themes so why expect it to work now?

That's why I'm saying we make the themes inspiration , not binding
I'm fine with keeping it or scraping it, it's what the rest of the people want

I understand,
But is it better to have 3 tracks ( or no tracks

) that stick to the guidelines strictly, or better to have a nice handful turn out but some of the tracks don't correspond to the theme per say. I mean i could probably come up with BS story of how my song some how ties in to the theme but for real, I am not gonna sign on to DSF Sunday night... Get a theme and then start working the rest of the week on it.. sorry.
I don't have time for that... Even if its for the sake of exploring an area your unfamiliar with.
So if i try to post something that doesn't correspond to the theme. Will i get shunned? I am willing to post tunes and provide feedback.. As i do recall. That is what the original Tuna week thread really turned into. Basically just got feedback on SC and talked about the tunes posted that week. But I don't see myself sticking to these themes, if it comes down to it. I just wouldn't post anything to be honest.
Edit***** I'm happy with what's stated. Ill post this tune I made this week up tomorrow.

Themes are useless, no one follows them, but I've seen several producers walk away from this weekly concept because of the perception of the necessity to follow the theme. Are you actively trying to choke out this weekly tuna?

do you people read before posting? we've already decided to make the themes serve an inspiration role rather than a rule..
