I don't see why you're getting so defensive or why you're trying to change the subject to weed and wars (If I had a choice of where my taxes were spent don't you think I wouldn't have it spent on war. Taxes = no choice. Chang = choice).

I don't live on the stuff, maybe do it once a month at best these days. But yeah I guess I don't really think about it, in the same way I don't think about a chicken having a shite life when I eat a chicken nugget. Idk the in & outs of it, but I do know that most the things we consume in the west and their disproportionate low prices depend on basically exploiting the third world. It's an uncomfortable comfort we've all got used to and are basically all guilty of.

On the funding misery point, I get it to a degree, but I don't think sniffing a bit of powder is a direct correlation to someone getting murdered from a deal gone bad, I don't directly effect their actions and choices. Isn't it a bit like paying into a pension fund or other investment (maybe they invest in arms and tobacco) and saying you're responsible for murder and cancer.

To sum up, I'm not over the moon about it, but the lack of knowledge/massive distance between me and any problems it causes don't make it obvious enough for me to go, NA no chang. But you have made me think about it, so I guess that can only be a good thing.

Yeah I definitely agree that our (in the west) happiness, through whatever product it may be, is somewhat dependant on some poor sod's misery in some far away country so i'm not trying to be Mr. moral warrior for the internet, or even trying to change people's habits, just really wondered if people were A. aware of what it takes for cocaine to get here, and B. if they did, how does it sit with them.

Cocaine is big, big money in central america. That money controls everyone from the farmers all the way up to the government in some/most/maybe all cases (inb4 i'm accused of being a conspiracy theorist again). Ever heard of a drug cartel? Well as they vie for position and power over the drug trade tens of thousands of people are murdered in the process (not, like, every year but it's a LOT). Not just rival cartel members but people that will speak out against them, their wives, their children... 'civilians'.

and that sucks man :[ similar thing happened to some of my frien ds at xmas this year, a l oad of them got some wack mandy adn like 5 people went super-west and started chundering everywhere for ages. two of three of em went to hospital cos they were going super-mega-west. it was cut with loadsa bicarb soda+speed apparently. made em all fizz like panda pops
that put a few of em off it for long time.
