Like the beat, but that's is pretty much all the track is, which can done. Personally, I think if ya are a beat track ya need to have at least a couple change up's to keep things interesting

i like the flanger ( i think its a flanger?) on the drums at the start, but it could possibly do with not being quite as wide, made me feel kind of drunk haha
also you might try learning a few minor scales, the bassline in your tune had quite a happy feel to it, compared to most dubstep which has that darker vibe..
of course you could just be going for that happier kind of feel!
Yeah that is a flanger at the beginnin. haha yeah i see what you mean .
The bassline werent intended to be happy as such just a bit of a difference to seperate it from others would you recomend i changed it?..
Thanks again
This is a track that i have been working on for the last week or so. It was originally an electro track that i was making, but i sliced and diced it into something totally new, and this is what has resulted so far. Its probably more breakbeat than anything at this point.
KiernBoii, So far sounds good. You got the snare and kick placement down pat in this. only thing id do is beef up that bass. Maybe add some sub bass to back that up. was this a FL Studio production?
Thanks.. yeah i understand the comment on the bass its been picked up on a couple of times..
yeah it was i use fl 8, just started to try out cubase tho heard its much better.
is there anything better daw to use for dubstep then as im trying to steer away from other fings and stick to dubstep?
thanks

if thats the way you want it to sound, then keep it that way, im not trying to say its wrong or anything, but if youre going for the classic dubstep kind of sound, minor keys have a darker kind of feel... have a look in the production bible, theres a lot of things that helped me on there!

Feedback for feedback!
Also: my first post here, durrr.
Nasty bass line man, i would say add a little more low end on it, it sounds really gritty though. and the intro fade in sounds nice and clean as well, maybe slow down the volume raise just a tiny bit so it takes a little longer for the intro to hit full volume
I don't mean to be rude but I am not quite sure what you're trying to achieve in this tune, the sounds and the way its contructed is nice though the mix sounds good I would try and get some more drive or faster progression for a bigger sense of "going somewhere" its progresses a bit to slowly and subtley and its hard to get into but I guess thats why its a work in progress .
Hope this helps

Thanks! You're totally right about the volume raise... and will see if I'll pump up the subs a little.

Really nice work there. I like the atmosphere the "guitary" synth, or whatever it is, creates. I do realize a Love Filter, don't I? :>
The High-Hats could pipe down a slight bit. The bass is alright, but I think it could be a bit softer/less raspy, hence supporting the smooth gloomy mood a bit more.
That's a nice tune mate, like the chilled out vibe. Liking the drum pattern you got going. The melody that kicks in 1:24 sounds good, but the bit @ 1:30 where it progresses up to a higher notes sounds a bit off - sort of out of place and not in keeping with the lower (darker) notes of the instrument rather than harmonically unsound...not sure if I've explained that well.

Damn you completely called that love philter, nice, haha, do you feel like it sounds cheesy or whatever? i was just trying to add some depth to the instrument, cant really tell how it turned out.
when i get back to the studio ill definitely mess with the oscs on my bass, i have alot of weird waveforms in there so maybe i should just throw on another sine or see if i can clean it up a bit. ill definitely post another copy later tonight
made this with a mate over the past couple weeks on and off
2nd drop bline midrange needs work as does drum filtering.... a lot of channels but nearly there. Compression seems to have given the bounce a filthy ringing type sound :/
Let me know what yout think, bear in mind this is my first tune I think is worthy of listenin too
i really like this one, its got a really organic feel to it, and feels kind of eastern for some reason! sounds just about finished to me!
so far im really diggin what you got here. Sounds like your already there to me. I wouldnt change anything imho.
Nice one on the feedback guys, was just wondering if anyone thinks the percussion is too loud in the mix and weather the breakdown before the 2nd drop works well wth the rest of the tune.
Elkie wrote:starting to wrap this one up now. first thing ive ever made that i think is almost worthy of gracing someone elses ears. let me know what you think, cheers!
Its not a bad start at all mate, I feel the percussion is too low in the mix and that you could probably progress it through the tune. Could do with some drum edits and some sort of new music/melody. My main concern is that didgeridoo/hoover type bassline its far too constant and becomes very annoying.

This tune is real good mate, not really my thing but Im feeling the vibes there. I was thinking the build up could be more minimal with the hits/percussion for a bit more progression. Mix down seems fairly solid tho, maybe the kick could be a little louder though.

Heres the updated version, hopefully more intersting, trying to find some vocals to fit into the track. Been thinking about adding some r&b vocals/grime vocals then making them glitch when the lighting hits. Need to find some good R&B vocal samples, anyways would love some more feedback on this song. I shall be giving some feedback on the other songs in this thread.

Really liking the piano sample and synths, obviously the song could be longer, I think the drums could be given some more punch and maybe add a saturator to your bass line to fatten it up, other then that I think your on to something pretty good.
