Started reading this a few days ago. Definitely a MUST if you are into science and its' origins. It's very serious compared to bryson's other books, but, as it says on the front, it's hard to imagine a better rough guide to science.

It's a slow burner but very much a good read. I've restricted myself to a couple of chapters a night otherwise I'd burn through it in a weekend!

'The holographic universe' - Mike talbot, a few months ago read..

will do it again some time, really well written, the kind of book that empties the mind more than it fills. Which is good.

Now:
'The radiance of the king' - Camara Laye

Pretty sure its the first book ive read from another culture!.. so far im loving the format.

The Emerald Tablets of Thoth

The history of the tablets translated in the following pages is strange and beyond the

quite an interesting read so far. investigation mode on.

A toilet book / airport book with some very American humour that you can see coming from a mile off. It's not a bad book it's just rather "pop", sort of thing you'd read in a magazine such is the style.

Kills time on my night shift and only cost me 20p so I'm not complaining

I've never read anything by him but amazon keeps recommending him to me. Now you have too maybe it's time checked him out. I don't think I bothered last time because I read somewhere he's weird for weirdnesses sake and contrived pretentiousness gets up my nose! I will check him out next week when I do my weekly visit to Barter Books

Reading this along side Bad Chili at the moment, it's pretty good! Set in Istanbul a few years after they join the EU with near future technologies colliding with djinns and old religions.

I've read PiHKaL, Entangled and The Princess Bride in the past 2 weeks. The Princess Bride is one of the best novels I've ever read.
