@ Sahara, this is not bad, nice notes and sound choices, bass is lacking sub lows on a few notes i think its where u switch the synth up. Keep at it though your style is cool

My most recent is in my sig, let me know what you think, !peace!

not sure if the 3:29 mark would be better if it had a massive drop after which it would bring down a heavy breakdown, like your style though.
yea i know what you mean. but a: i tried something and it didn't sound too good. b: i set my self a deadline of friday to finish this tune because i wanted to move onto other stuff.

oh and i'd love to comment on some people's tunes here. but the problem is i've only got my laptop speakers right now. i don't think it's fair if i make comments on mix down when i can't here any frequencies bellow about 300hz lol.

ROWES - This track is pretty sick man, nice and dark, and effective changing patterns on the 'donk' (For lack of a better term)

Wikum - Track is dirty man deep bass and you cut it up nicely, a technique I know bassheads are very fond of !

And yea some people doubting.. Creatures was my first completed original tune, I have some remix tune up on soundcloud I made first. That being said I have been unemployed and been able to drop like 70-80 hours into that one learning how to do everything plus tutorial/learning time with friends in the biz.

jaydot: pretty neat, i liked the bassline but it lacked some power imo, try adding some fx / eqing abit differently

Sylvatir : snare was heavy man, but the bassline was really abit boring , try adding more variation to idd, and dont forget about your mid levels, this one's more split in low/high

RatRace: I liked your buildup + drop + bassline, but wasn't really keen on the stabs or bellish kinda high pitched sounds, just taste maybe , but they sounded like they didn't fit in

Wikum: heavy tune man, very tight production reminds me of distance !

My tune is the complete opposite of what I usually do, deep vibes instead of screaming basslines! And it's a free download :)

Hello all,

Some may remember I posted this track a little while ago, here is the final version with some added finishing touches and a bit of mastering (I tried anyway).

Any critiques are welcome.

@ jaydot: nice idea, as reignz said, the bass sound is cool but could be improved by adding some fx automation, also you could try moving slightly some of this hi hats hits left or right to give it a more steppish feeling, just my opinion tho

@ reignz: the track is properly mixed (at least to my half decent ears) and the sounds blend together well, but i feel it lacks something, i would add some melodic variations here and there on the synths to keep it interesting, even in a really subtle way

@ capture point: really well done deep track, i think its really hard to go for a minimal vibe but this one does it for me, congrats for the messed up synth lead during the breakdown, great track imo

@magoula: I like that, the trancey lead effect thing reminds me of Township Funk for some strange reason, liking the deepness of it it's got a Digital Mystikz feel on it.

@rowes: Great sub. nice filthy bass and percs and all-round composition.

@reign: I already left a comment on the soundcloud for that one, It's on my HD ready to go on my Ipod. :D

Chilled-out garage attempt, let me know what you think.

i like the melody in this one, really sweet synth sounds, i would expand on this and add some variations in the melody here and there to keep the track interesting, maybe add a few edits in the beats too, i wouldnt file this under garage tho, but who cares about genres in the end :t:

@Magoula - Really like the drum programming and the amen you got goin on. Like that hollow sounded bass, has a really cool vibe to it. Tune progresses well and overall mastering is good. Not too keen on the snare sample but works with the tune.

@MjMuk - nice bass and drums, that snare smacks! like the lead melody.

@reignz - Vey crisp production, nice chilled tune. Like the hats/percussion rhythms.

Just released tune in my sig, would love to here what people think, bit of a new direction for me but one I really like and hope to be doin some more stuff in that style, kinda dark, more minimal stuff.

The trancey lead sound is an Ableton preset synth lead. I forget what it's called though. :D

Just got a tune I started waaaaaay back finally finished so thought I'd post it up here. Tune's in my sig but here's the link for good measure ;)
Soundcloud

@Sinister Beats - Like the dark ambience in this one, have to say the bassline isn't really to my tastes though. Good production value throughout.

@Jaydot - Like this one quite a lot, feel that the main synth at the start could maybe sound a bit nicer but like the melodies and the progression of the track is nice. The piano type affair in the breakdown is real smooth, nice work!

@Reignz - Feel like you've got all the right things in the right place in this tune but I'm just not feeling the melodies really, something I can't explain is lacking. Except the intro glockenspiel type synth, when that comes back in it makes it a lot nicer but still doesn't massively grab my attention. Overall it's nice but not nice enough to get on the download I'm afraid!
