@ sirminus

cheers for that mate, and yeah thats a fair call about the synths. kinda agree now that youve said it hah.

i like your track, great intro rolls really smoothly. i like the wind up pre drop. dig the bass also. really catchy. might just be soundcloud / pre mixdown but maybe kicksnare a bit punchier when the bassline is rolling.

ibscotty: I thought the sparse feel of the track and the sounds you've used are really good! In terms of constructive criticism I reckon the drum's could be a little more varied and the kick sounds a little too prominent and muddy (less reverb on the kick/more of a low cut on the eq should sort that out), also you could use some percussion/incidentals to add interest and maybe get some filter, reverb automation to add a little bit of sonic character. I really like the section after 3:09, maybe some more varience like that could come in sooner? Keep working at it and I reckon you'll have a nice head-nodder on your hands!

Ok, this is my first track that I am trying to complete as a whole and some input would be greatly appreciated from some of you veterans. I feel I have a very good ear for what I am trying to do I just need to learn what everything means. I think this has a lot of potential. Thanks for your opinions.

Build the intro up more, I like the idea of the part after the vocals, need to make the transitions work together, so it flows more. But I like the idea (also following you on soundcloud now)

sirminus

Love the intro, not to sure on the build up with the high pitched noise, but overall a very good WIP.

Grime Syndicate

Really love this track, want to hear the finished thing, Love the fact its more of a lead synth instead of wobbles. Nice pads in there to.

Here is a rough work out of a song i have been working on :4: Great full of the feedback

As grime said, thats allllll mids. You need a beefy sub behind that. When i used to make subs with fl, i used 3x osc... very easy to make beefy subs, here is a vid i just found using fl9, hope it helps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_eGsNVHDsY

thanks dude! i appreciate that, i think i understand now, i just need to layer it under the mids correct?

@pH-14 Good track overall, awesome vocals, but it needs more percussion!
@sirminus I really like that intro, but the switch up is a bit abrupt. I like that high screaming synth, the track gets boring after a while.
@nibzdub Drums and bass are okay, not much to say here, pretty avarage tune. Keep it up

Here's what i'm working on at the moment

hahaha i just hit that wall man, do you have aim by any chance or msn? maybe i can show you what ive done with the sub and you could possibly tell me what im doin right/wrong haha instead of taking the time to upload it to a site and here and all that shiet. i think the problem is now the lows are overpowering those mids

edit: okay so i put a limiter on it, did a lil more eq'in, and i came up with this, i think i got what everyone meant now, getting the sub to line up directly underneath was a bit tough so im not sure that its right especially with lfo and whatnot, please reassure me ahahaha

@sqwuabblesmynig still not a lot of bass and the notes seem a little random, but I think you've got some potential.
@Jaegunn this sort of also lacks bass in some parts but the note progression of the lead and bassline are pretty good. sounds a little rough though as far as mastering. can't really pinpoint what it is since I'm still a noob too lol.
@aez that intro is sooooo sweet dude.

here's my track. def. unfinished, just want some early feedback.

the one in my sig is also sort of a work in progress.

@Digezt: wow, rythym is great, incredible sounds, really awesome soundscape...

@sqwuabblesmynig: CLASSIC sound

...here's a track i just stepped aside from, def a WIP, still needs a BASSLINE BAD... feedback appreciated!

@dougriley - like the synth in the intro and the squeaky wobbles later on, the drums feel lacking to me and your right it seriously needs a bassline because I found it very tiring to listen to after a while without one. got good potential.

@arfus - like the drums and the atmosphere in this, got some nice vibes going on, I was about to say it reminds me of sigur ros and then I saw it was a remix XD like what you've done with it, not amazing production wise but some nice ideas going on.

@aez - not really feeling your drums in this and the arps feel really generic and are a bit annoying :\ the drop lacks power which is a shame as the synth work after it is fairly good. Overall you've got some elements right but a lot of it is feeling very rough still and needs tightening up. The musical elements are lacking quite a lot!

Here's my latest WIP, anybody know what genre this is? I've been making it loads recently but have no idea what you'd actually call it :\
