It's some bastard child of happy hardcore and eurodance. It was basically akin to going into the DMZ thread and asking people if they like this new Doctor P tune. So yeah, people didn't appreciate it.

nice one! i've seen that artwork style a couple times before and always enjoyed the music :)

thanks for posting here, i'll check out your forum once i have free time again, which will hopefully be soon (my new job is horrible :C )

@ everyone who commented on my soundcloud link: thank you !!! i guess my problem was the lack of a proper bassline, i'm currently working on that kick -> verb -> compression technique and the posts here are definetly helping.

i kinda like the idea of inter-forum communication, maybe we should sign up at subsekt and share some dubstep trickery (lol as if anyone of us still made dubstep anyway)

and stop arguing, you're making us look bad

Hey Hasezwei,

Yeah cool man - Make sure to say Hi - I'm ICN there too.

Haha @ the cross pollination between the 2 forums. We could have them twinned, like towns & cities :)

We'd be well up for that.. and would love to have some DS knowledge. Seriously. All you guys who are getting involved here & chatting seem sound & like chatting - so definitely, that woud be nice man. We're all fucking geeks at the end of the day haha

Yeah - The label is Stroboscopic Artefacts. Everything on it is pretty decent. That series above is called "Monad". They are up to N0.12 or 13 now & it's normally quite heavy & abstract. They're a cool label cos they're kinda on the edge of techno. They sound like themselves.

Another cool label is Singularity, which is run by Steve Voidloss - who releases himself. They are more on the techno/industrial/brokenbeat/bass music direction. Always mega interesting sonics.

Henning Baer is wicked too. Lots of great techno out there thats good music.

Think I'll join that Subsekt forum.. looks pretty good.
Stroboscopic Artefacts is one to look out for definitely. Great dark vibes, a style I'd like to be able to
produce.. but I always clean the sound up way too much.

Really I want to make Techno that sounds like monsters eating each other in a warehouse (The kind Unklone and a few others have been making):

Soundcloud

but since I have no idea how to make any of those sounds, I had a go at making some slightly more traditional, warehouse kinda stuff:

Soundcloud

Any feedback / comments are appreciated, hope you guys enjoy!

Sounds like that guy does a lot of experimenting with pitch. Like pitching tom hits and stuff.
The main sounds like distorted squares/saws. Maybe you could achieve something like that quite easily
by building your sound up from a bass patch that uses square waves. Open up the highs and put a little reverb on it.
Think he messes around with lfo frequency to get that kind of chopping effect, where it fades in and out real fast.

Just tried it this way myself and got quite close

Yeah it sounds like distorted squares with high resonance (ie acid...) for the main riff. It's the sort of inhaling type of noise just before the drops that I'm more interested in, not really sure where to start with those.

That is kind of lame yeah. Though, to be fair, before I went there to check those infamous pics I thought I was listening
to more of a big name.
