To add to my above post, does this sound close to what you want man?

Soundcloud

FUCK i'm using that melody idfc it's beautiful.
Normal rhodes piano with heavy EQing, took at all lows below 200 and anything higher than 900Hz and threw a reverb on the track

Pretty spot on.

Make a Happy Trap song out of that riff. Pushin out new tings.

gosh those background pics really turn me off
but yeah, a rhodes or wurlitzer would do it. don't even think about making melodies like that with the piano roll though, those instruments are all about expression.

I think I did pretty well using piano roll. just a little more velocity tweaking on the chords and it'll be perfect.

well if it suits your needs thats cool, i'm not saying you can't do it.
but if you know someone who can play piano (we all do) just ask them to play a melody you wrote for a couple minutes, maybe improvise a bit, record that (bonus points for them playing your midi keyboard) and enjoy. it's definetly on a different level compared to doing it by mouse, something i find really tiring.

Honestly i have snares Down and Packed but Out of all the things in dubstep i Still can't figure out how to make that Snare & Clap combination Like SKiSM and Tantrum Desire both do. Could someone share that combination with me or point me in the direction how to make it?

The 808 in this, what is done to it to make it rattle so much?

Edit: Googling only found people complaining about their 808s rattling :( maybe I just have the wrong samples

I have no clue how this sound was made. I can't really make out any specific waveforms or anything. Any ideas?

The dark, reverby sound with the subtle delay at 0:28

sounds like detuned saw waves (either a reese or a common "techno" bass) going through some phase distortion. at the end of the fx chain, after eqing the dirt out of the sound, have a lp filter controlled by a saw-like automation envelope for the punchy sound.

Try square waves with that instead of saws, and one subtle square or a triangle wave an octave higher
