if you cant handle a few insults then maybe you should check your behavior. i called you out cuz you're sharing your (dickish) opinions where it's not appropriate. if you're not bigging up Rashad then go away

I wasn't saying I can't handle the insults, I was pointing out that you're blaming me for something you're doing yourself, whereas I didn't call anyone any names and wasn't negative about Rashad or even soiree. If this thread is inappropriate for namecalling, then why did you use it to call me names or even threaten me with violence if you could've done it through private mail? Again, I don't mind the threats or any of that and don't take them seriously, but surely that's a lot more inappropriate than anything I've done in this thread or anywhere on the boards? I bigged up Rashad numerous times in this thread.

I understand where Gene is coming from and I believe that he has the right to state his opinions, even though I do not completely agree with him on this matter.

Liam92 wrote:Still can't get over the fact Rashad & Spinn were supposed to play here at the end of the month.

Never seen him live before or any footwork artist before (besides Kode9 playing some), I was so so excited and really couldn't wait to see him and Spinn. Most excited I'd been for a night for a long long time. I mean, like I was crazy crazy hyped for it :(

Alas, I will never get to see a set of his.

:corncry:
only time i was lucky enough to see him and spinn play was when they were on tour with chance the rapper. spinn would be doing an hour's opening set that was completely top 40, then rashad would come on and throw in a couple footwork bits in between tunes. after, during chance the rapper's performance, me and my friends who all came to see them were bummed because it was exactly what we knew was gonna happen, i know they all knew each other from living in chicago, and being friends of chance's, so we knew it was going to go either way, the top 40 set having the higher chance of occuring. all these kids there had absolutely no idea who rashad and spinn were. it was kind of funny, and mind you, they were kids. like 17, 18,19.. it was an all ages show. so i tweeted him:

"@DJRASHAD don't judge phoenix too hard... there's three dudes and a lady that specifically got to this show for you and spinn. #teklife"

he responded with:

"@I_Am_Issa #love Stick around we playing footwork when we come back on"

so we waited, and everyone left. the security guards tried kicking us out but we insisted on staying to see if they would come back on. we told them that rashad and spinn were coming back to do another set, and sure enough, they played for about 45 minutes of just straight footwork to a completely empty floor minus my friends and my girlfriend. we danced our asses off!! it was surreal. we got a chance to talk with them for a bit, really really nice guys, and i got some contact info from them, and from a couple friends of theirs who were footwork djs here in phoenix. some stuff locally has happened since, which is a separate story. anyway, it was an amazing thing, i felt like we were part of history that can now never repeat because of his death. makes me feel special, but it makes his death that much more sad. anyways..

calling a truce against she whom shall go nameless,
video, photo, article, positive praise battle in order.
this is the most important thread on DSF at the moment.

spinn did that same shit when me & my 2 friends saw him lol

he missed the opening set for chance the rapper & we were just outside smoking while chance was on (b/c tbh hes fucking wack)

anyway spinn showed up & talked to us for half hour before he went on

then he did like 5 minutes of top 40 remixes & after the entire floor cleared he played tons of him & rashads shit was great

no it's a matter of soiree stating his feelings which are subjective (you even say so) and you feeling the need to explain to him why they are subjective and 'his' views
+ it's soiree (no offense),,
it's just soiree 'mourning' his loss or whatever, whomever read what soiree said knows this so yeah it does read as stupid/meaningless make your pick

also pls don't go say things you don't know anything about jo
edit; + it's not that I'm disagreeing with anything you said btw (but Rashad IS the king  )

I was very surprised and pleased to hear comedian Greg Proops eulogizing Rashad in his recent podcast from Chicago. Makes some more good points about the wack journalism surrounding the case. Big up the Proop dawg

sad topic, but this thread could've been good, more photos and videos and mixes and stories.

I think it was more like people were starting to get into it and then his death just spurted it to full-blown fandom

hmm yh i guess altho some people i know who had never mentioned him or footwork before suddenly changed their profile photos to him and wouldn't shut up about it, but now a couple weeks later they havn't mentioned footwork since.

each to their own i guess tho
