Did any of you guys watch the YouTube videos that recently went viral where young white guys went to black areas (am I allowed to say 'black areas'?) and either farted in people faces when they were doing their shoelaces or verbally provoked people before saying 'it's just a prank, bro!'. A lot of the times the white kids got punched in the face very hard.

Are the white kids victims?

oh and I'm against most of these police shootings, obviously, I think its horrendous. But not when people approach police in that way, wielding weapons, defending that type of behaviour is stupid.

Also, if the police had tazed him or shot him in the leg or whatever it was you suggested, you'd be sat posting on the forum about how cruel they are for that and they should have just spoken to him to calm him down or restrained him or something lol, you've already made your minds up that police using violence as a tool for self defence is wrong. You're wrong.

I just got remembered that post G made where he talked about individuality and collectivity and how they relate to race. Basically he said that whites where more prone to individuality because whites (in America) as a group haven't gone through things such as slavery and limited rights. Blacks on the other hand went through slavery, Jim Crow laws, etc. This collective hardship promoted group unity, without unity Blacks would just continue to be marginalized.

I think this may play a role into the response by white people when a white person is murdered vs the response by black people when a black person is murdered. Not saying that both races can't feeling outrage or empathy when a person of another ethnic group is killed, just in general.

You've ruined your argument in a technical sence, because you can't use violence as a tool, Violence as a concept is reactionairy and in that case would mean the police is at fault. It's controlled force or defending from a group perspective.
It's not self defence when it's a police officer and in that way, won't adhere to the laws of self defence or even the logic of self defence. Officers has to transcend that like Loxy transcended snares

are you kidding me? i've been advocating this whole time for non-lethal force. if they shot him in the leg that would have made me very happy. i care most about losing lives. You can always heal a wound or amputate a limb if you have to, but you can't bring someone back from the grave....

While I can't really tell exactly what happened from that video, what I presume happened is that the kid had headphones on and couldn't hear the cops' orders, so he was unable to follow them, so they killed him, even though he was not posing a threat and was unarmed. If so then I think that's just as outrageous. It might not be pushed by the conservative American media (and that includes NBC, NYT, WaPo, etc imo - they're all conservative, in that they don't want change and they only allow discourse to happen in a 2 inch x 4 inch box) because it won't result in the further disenfranchisement of minorities, but if that's what happened, I give a fuck, and I think it's just as terrible if not more so than the MB case (depending on the facts that come out).
