So the way Ive been making my bass is finding a nice sound sample and throwing it in simpler and ajusting it to my liking in there. It works fine cuz i can automate simplers parameters in ableton, like changing the filter freq and LFO > sync

Or I load up my synth and get a nice sound and use that. The downside to using my synth is I cant automate the synths parameters in ableton so I have to copy the synth patch and have 1 or more seperate tracks with varying parameters to get a changing wobble throughout the tune. Is this how I should do it? or is there an easier way Im not getting here?

thanks again guys

For mono: insert abletons utility effect, make width 0%.
Question: my subs out of operator are clicking at the end of the note. Dub tee eff?

Tip: put an instance of simple delay over. Track, link the left and right tracks. Set delay type to repitch but right clicking the top of the effect. Turn sync off of delay time. Map delay time to midi. Now scratch that shit up.

yo

here's a question concerning follow actions.

you know the way it's 'first, last, previous, next, any, or other'....is there a way to set up another fake option that could be called 'inbetween'?

fuck....I had this question thought out better when I was at home....I'll have to ask again tomorrow.
so instead of 'any' or 'other' you could sort of jump to a specific scene?

if you understand my gibberish, please help?

yeah yeah that's exactly what I meant! :)

I'm trying to think how the current way follow actions runs would be better than what I'm saying....it's hard to imagine when I'm not sitting at the program but I still think what I'm saying would be better.

lemme check if live 8 has this

I've found a way. hopefully this helps people.

i had a screenshot but that disappeared of my usb....so I'll try and explain

1) your ass is here
2)
3) <--- you wanna be here
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
9)

you wanna go to 3 without having to go to 2. on 2, set the launch time at 0.0.1. select next. then go the Sample section, and set the start position at a negative value...perhaps -3.3.4 or some such. so when you press clip 1 and after clip 1 is finished, it will bypass clip 2 and jump directly to clip 3.

an issue with this though:

- it's maybe a quarter of a second off when jumping to clip 3. and I didn't try to do this with a jumping to clip 4 and then having clip 4 jump to clip 7 and all sorts of stuff. but there's gotta be a way with Other. not a big issue in my case because I make random sort of shit for the most part...for me, the quarter of a second works well.

strangely...on the Ableton website Other isn't a possible follow action :? am I imagining things? their tips and tricks are supposed to be current with the latest version.

anyway
Any: This Follow Action will launch any clip in the group, including (possibly) the clip that is currently playing.

In our current example, you can see that our clip is set up with two possible Follow Actions, "Next" and "Any." The odds that one of these Follow Actions will occur are 1:1. This means that one bar after the clip is triggered, there is a 50% chance that the clip directly below it will be launched. The other half of the time, a random clip will be launched.
maybe something with this will help?

when i read up on follow actions I always think I'm close....but never am I.

I'm sure there is, there is in most daws. My knowledge of ableton at its zenith was passable, now, i barely remember. Sorry no help. In the mean time, you can just cut that shit up.

ctrl E makes the highlighted section cut off from the rest

do that in chunks, then select them all and turn on loop

or in session view, make a 4 bar loop from the intro, then duplicate it and slide the loop bar over
