That's what's hurting production forum the most really. Like when one estalbished user is a tnuc to a newbie or someone who's universally disliked, all the sheep come out the woodwork and join in on the bashfest for pages and pages stroking their own ego and beating a dead horse.

Honesty should not be construed as dickishness unless the op misunderstands.

Life is all about constructive criticism.

But my dilemma is purely based around whether it is necessary to give criticism.
What gives me the right to criticize another person?
Does it make me seem superior or condescending?

Not taking criticism is a bigger character flaw imo.

Doesn't matter, if it's on your mind you can say it. And if you choose not to, that's cool too. But then, after you decide not to, why worry about what you should do? In the grand scheme of things, I don't think that one post will change the world. If you're more comfortable expressing your concerns, constructively then you should do that. Whether the other person knows how to deal with honest constructive criticism shouldn't be of your concern.

vol 3 is fire!

I meant that the hi frequencies (hats and rides etc) were too loud and over powered the rest of the mix so was a bit piercing on the ears at times.

Could have been my player/headphones but they generally tend to sound fine without the need of any EQing.

Would still give the other volumes a try though.

What genre is the pizza of music? As in, basically all of it is at least pretty good.

My vote is for jungle or original UKG.

hmm duno bout jungle, there's a lot of shit that gets called jungle (serial killaz etc)

and excluding stuff like that cos you don't think it counts (which i don't) probably defeats the point of finding a genre that's pretty much all good

I'm not looking at it like a scientific study. Nobody wants to eat a faeces pizza, but pretty much all of it is listenable.

Think UKG and jungle are way too derivative. There's like 3 or 4 jungle tunes that all others are based off of, same with garage (think that's really symptomatic of 'UK soundsystem music'). There's more interesting flavors in emo. While with UKG or jungle you're basically just stuck with pepperoni pizza. U kno, tasty, but it gets old if you listen to it for more than a day.

Breakcore too tbh. Even when it's shit it's usually good. Too many distorted Amen tunes, but around that Amen there's usually some cool samples too.
