I'm not a big fan of the pev collabs tbh, livity sound included. Love all the constituent people's solo efforts, but the combined is a bit dull for me.

there's an absolute ton of new nights starting in newcastle this year and i'm not sure how i feel about it. one one hand i'm glad that there's more people getting behind nights that allegedly are about pushing good music, but at the same time i can't help but think that a lot of it is just bandwagoning promoters who were too scared to take the chance of starting a night when the music scene was smaller.

it's easy to be cynical and think that a lot of the nights that are starting are just people trying to make a quick buck off the back of a fad, and i hope that if this is actually the case, then the nights run by the people who actually love and support the music and the scene are the ones that survive. i really don't think that all the new events, plus the ones that have been around for a while, are going to be able to survive for all that long.

Plenty of whisky aficionados take their whisky with water - the burn-effect of neat spirits can cause you to only taste the alcohol spoiling all those fancy wood and peat notes - adding some water or letting a couple of ice cubes melt whilst you're drinking reduces the burn and allows the flavour to breath. It's personal preference as apposed to anything to do with overcoming poor quality.

I've just never enjoyed the flavour of vodka enough to want to concentrate on it, personally... mix that shit or shoot it!

Little stone cubes you can bang in the freezer, stay freezing for ages and don't water the drink down.
