"Veal" is like he tried to make "Mud" fit in on Swamp 81. Not feeling it, vocal really doesn't go with the tune at all.

veal is like, okay as a dj tool which is what it is. it was pretty good for a while if you knew the words and heard it out cos everyone sang along. western is also okay, but the other two recent ones, champion and grand master, are pretty shit, champion especially IMO. just really boring

Innit. I reckon Western is big i've just rarely heard it on a rig that does it justice AT ALL. Doesn't translate well to average--->good club systems at all imo.

But that ain't Loefah's fault i spose.

Don't like any of his other new bits tbh. Also seen he's been in studio with Benton t'other day

Champion - Suffers from poor sampling, same as that "Veal" tune.
Grand Master - Alright. Just sounds like something that would be the worst tune on Zomby - With Love

That Quest one is pretty good though, but don't think it's as good as what some hip hop producers are doing.

champion poor sampling LOL

I think he achieved what he was trying to do
this goes for the tunes in general

not every tune has to be etched headplate

hear any of those beats inna rave and u will poo pants 100%
or force a chinstroke and shuffle over to the smoking area

Agree Veal is an alright DJ tool.

Champion & Grand Master sound like interlude type tracks on an album. Don't necessarily think they're bad tracks and would probably be good as an intro/interlude on an album made for home listening... but club tracks or mixing with them.. I just don't get it.

Love that Oneman mix but I always skip past those 2 tracks, massive weak points in the mix imo.

I think the speech sample in what I presume is the middle of the tune goes on for far too long, and the denzel curry sample is random as fuck (if that was in the tune, and not just in the mix). Horsepower knew how to make an old vocal sample work, and it weren't by dragging it out for 2 minutes over some "my first trap" beat.

that's fair enough, don't mean you're a knob if you don't like it though.

I hope one day Carrier gets pressed again, such a shame the original got merkled.

The 'In Fine Style' of 130 imo.

I got a copy, and mine ain't too bad tbf, there's only one really noticeable pop on the thing. Is a shame though, especially as that was before keysound started pressing all their albums on wax.

Been tempted to buy one for a long time and just hope it isn't too fucked.

Such a good album.
