Yeah, i'm new to the big bad world of fantastic glitchy dubstep, and so far this has been the most satisfying genre to produce but like I said i'm still new and in dire need of some feedback from people who actually listen to dubstep :)

Hi guys, i've referenced dsf for a while but i've only taken the initiative to join only recently. keen on producing and an avid listener to all types of dubstep, and all styles of music in general!

Enough lurking, time to join up !!

Hi everybody !! :t: (HI DOCTOR NICK!!)
Stilzkin is my production (eventually DJ) alias and I am very green to production (about 6 months in now) but have been playing music (mostly prog. metal, post rock, some jazzy funky stuff too) for over 10 years. First dubstep (if you want to call it that heh) I heard was Excision at Shambhala 2009 and It totally hooked me, coming from a metal background I had never heard heavily distorted electronic music before (having only listened to Goa-Trance and IDM in high school (2000-2004)) and I became addicted right away. Coming home from the festival I checked out "dubstep" and instantly fell in love with the more original dubstep artists (you know who I'm talkin' about). Being a prog rock guitarist/drummer, I appreciate the space that is utilized and the awesome tones that Coki, Skream, Mala, Scuba, Digital Mystics, Benga ect. use. After about a year of listening I decided to dive into making these sounds myself, chose FL studio because I already had a bit of knowledge with it.
So far my stuff is definetly of the more Brostep variety  , (though not all) but I am beggining to venture into a more classical dubstep format as my skills and understanding progress :W: . Whenever I figure out how to do it I'll get some up on soundcloud so I can get feedback, for feedback is key.
I'm from BC, Vancouver Island, and would love to acually start making money doing what I love, which has always been music; Any support and feedback you guys can give me in the future I am preemptively grateful for !!
thanks !

oh yes, and I plan to be the first one to reach fame using my midi accessable guitar to control synths in a live setting, Live dubstep triggered with guitar. With live V-drums if my friend jumps on the bandwagon. YEEEAAAAHH.
Well at least let me know if someone has already beat me to it, I know there is jazzstepper, and bulldogs use a drummer, but I"m talking a guy with a guitar on stage, and people are like: "is he making those crazy wobbles with his guitar?? wtf mate."

Hey everyone, glad to finally find a forum with like minded people that really just care about music, I make some pretty dark tunes but my goal is just to draw emotions out of people with my music :)

So.. My name is Yuri, and I'm from Latvia, near Baltic Sea. I love dubstep from 2010 year, many will think that I am brostep kid etc, but I really got into dubstep, last year i've discovered that this is really my music, long time I was trying to promote dubstep as itself in Latvia, and I had success with that, around 35000 downloads of mixes etc.
At the end of the year 2010, I was playing a bit with fruity loops, didn't knew all this software yet, and so on, but I made my first track, than in producing "career", I took big break, and started to produce again in 2011, August, after my birthday party - I don't know how these events are equal to each other, but that happened after my birthday. I wasn't so good at all, but than came September, and I was spending most of my time to make music I love, and now I even wan't to release my album, 2 tracks to finish.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Newest track: http://soundcloud.com/urbanstep/urbanst ... t-pre-vers
I will be releasing album on 9th December 2011, I don't know - will it be independent or it will be signed on label, time will show, now I'm searching for label :)

Hope you enjoy my music :)

Peace to ya'll dubheadz!

Hello all! Slay-Ten here

Post by SlayTen » Fri Nov 18, 2011 10:45 pm

I'm Michael Slaton, a 17 year old electronic/house/dubstep producer from southern Jersey in the states. I've been creating music on ableton live for about 4 months now. Not to sound cocky, but I think i've progressed dramatically in the short amount of time i've been creating. Listening back at my first mix on the program, comparing it to my new stuff is like comparing Halo reach to Halo 2. ( Halo players will get that haha)

I've come here to help spread the word about my existence, find other artists to listen to, and learn new techniques and facts about achieving a good mix. I hope to find a friendly and awesome community on this forum.

Hey guys I'm Theaxis. I've been making music for about six years (I used to intern at a studio for awhile) but I've been focusing on electronic music for the past couple months. DSF has been my go to resource and I owe a lot to the knowledge everyone has shared here :)
I also VJ (visual projection art) for live bands and DJs in the Los Angeles area. I've found while performing that electronic music and expressive visuals go really well together (big surprise  ); which actually led me to getting more into edm production.

Anyhow, I'm happy to finally be posting on here and getting to know everyone while sharpening my skills as a producer. :t:
