My low-end is covered. I mean you can always have bigger subs but the bx5a's do quite well when producing.
I test my stuff on multiple systems too so I'd rather have a more flat response while producing.

And ya, I definitely rock the hell out on the controllers. Honestly I use the Launchpad more than anything. When I play Live it's just the Launchpad and APC40. I like to have most things mapped so I can record automation rather than draw it all in manually.(Although sometimes it can't be avoided.)
The synth is a Roland GAIA and honestly, I'm not really feeling it.
wacom tablets are great for when you have to draw in automation

I want one. Recording really random things and chopping them up into tunes works so well

I use my trusty iPhone for this purpose. I guess it would be nice to have a dedicated recorder.

Me too! Every time I go out for a walk, I'll whip out my iPod and start hitting things, recording tress rustling, etc. They sound pretty good, but it really would be great to have a more professional field recorder.

Yeah for adding some organic stuff into your music it's ok, but even a $200-300 recorder with just the build in mics will be a huge difference. For general sound recording this would be enough. The mic pre's on this thing are badboy, but with a retail around $1400 you get what you pay for.

EX, you are free to drop that off at my studio any time. Does that record digitally?

Yes. It has 1 digital I/O, 2 analog ins (line and mic level), records on either Compact Flash or PCMCIA card.
