Have a look at the Master TRACK/INSERT for the Control Surface Plugin.
The 'Vowel' Knob Is controlling two different instances of the Parametric
Equalizer 2 on the Growl FX INSERT and also the 'RAWR' Knob on the
OmegaGrowl Patch for Massive that I have created for you.
Understand the Movement.
This is simply a demonstration of how I achieve my growls.
It may not sound exactly like mine for I don't need people to copy my work but
this allows you to understand how the movement and form of the growl is
suppose to sound.
If you use these growls make sure they don't sound like me and you
construct them in your own way.

Of course, I would reconstruct them on my own. That's just common courtesy

hehe
But I appreciate the chance to look inside your design process. You've got some great sounds coming out.
Did you get a chance to look at my take on the Ocular growl, Would definitely like some feedback from you. I think we could definitely get some next level growls going if we could do some sort of feedback/criticism chain going. I'm on the hunt for those barely alive sounds. But I wanna definitely add my own flavor and touch to them. I'll do the same with yours too!

Haha. Drum and Bass/NeuroHop are my jamzz. I've been making drum and bass for a few years now (mostly in Logic) and have only recently (2-3 years) been making the growl bass sounds (after i switched to FL). So Reese basses were my main concern for a long time. I guess they'll always sorta have an influence on my sound. Old habits are hard to break!
I'll PM you though, maybe we can get a little more "in depth" about our techniques. I wanna share with the community, and as far as my knowledge, I'm happy to share. But I respect someone's opinion to keep their "secrets" to themselves. If you work hard for something, giving it away for free isn't exactly your first thought hahahah. But maybe we can swap some more advanced ideas personally.

I would definitely like to hear some tips on this. Maybe some screenshots or patches for that neuro type stuff? I'm digging it. Give me more!

Okaaay Weelll Lets begin shall we... I am working in Live 9
Okay so I really dont know fm synthesis all to well but i did what i could with help from the early pages of this thread, that being said i do however know massive very well and that neuro thing was made in massive.
So for the fm8 growl here are the pics to most of it
http://imgur.com/a/akLIx I honestly dont give a fuck if you copy it exactly because im not a greedy bitch, but if you look through the pictures there are various things that are automated throughout the fx chain. Here are all the parameters for that.
These are all mapped to one knob
Fm8- Op A>F 0-1.00
Op D>E 0-.30
Op B>C 0.50-0.30
WoW Filter- Vowelcutoff 0-.38
Autofilter Freq- 43.6Hz-527Hz
Vocal eq I SCALE- 100%-0%
Vocal eq A 0%-100%
There is some distortion with camelcrusher but that can of course be substituted with ohmicide or whatever distortion unit you like. I prefer Ohmicide but it keeps crashing my ableton so yeah.
Anyways then i Fed that growl sound through lives vocoder with vocals of me shouting snarls and such, vocodex would work much better but im on mac sooo i would rather not go through the trouble of trying to get it. But the pic pretty much explains itself so there you go on that one. Im pretty sure thats it for the groel.
Now The neuro groel its in massive, heres the album to that,
http://imgur.com/a/deWe9 now i think the key here for it to sound the best is to have vocals to somebody singing or talking, like i used when jesse from breaking bad says "well Heil hitler bitch" i just chopped that up and threw it in there.
Umm the pictures pretty much explain everything other than that but any questions just ask. OH and of course ohmicide and distortion lots too, again i had to use camel crusher but it still sounds nice.

Sounds pretty dope. I wouldn't mind seeing how you did this maybe screenshots?. It sounds a little harsh in my opinion but with a little tweaking could probably sound pretty full.

Yea I apologize for the harshness, I didn't have my production headphones when I made this, just played around on my laptop speakers with some growl racks I had made previously (on headphones).

Thanks man! That growl is FM8 + Saturation + Ohmicide to distort the highs + 1 highpass. All of that vowel is from a highpass lol. There are a couple things in between, but the idea is simple: Make harsh sound then highpass for vowel.

Nice one, reminds me of one the old ones I made, but with a slightly different modulation!
EDIT: While I'm here I might aswell post this, it's a small preview of an upcoming remix I have coming out in March/April. This clip is from the unmastered version. The growl is not really that vowely, but it's cool imo. It's basically a reese with a shit ton of distortion and some processing, think I explained a bit about it in the reese bass thread a few months back.

THanks for the help! How do you make it 'stutter' like that in fm8 to begin with though?
