seen him on newsnight recently? everything he says is full of substance (except when he goes off on one and talks about beards)

Which one? I've got an iKey Mk1 (the white one) and the iKey Plus (the grey/black one)

IIRC;

• Connect it up w/ a flash stick in it
• Run a signal through it and adjust the volume in dial until you see it clipping, then drop it down (usually about a quarter of a turn)
• Select the bitrate you want to record at
• Hold down Record until the lights flash (it should be recording at this point, with the red light at the bottom flashing to indicate storage space left)
• When you're done recording, hold down both buttons for 3/5sec (can't remember which). All the lights should flash on and off a couple of times, then it should return to the state where you can select bitrate.
