@kontingobeats - which ong were you referring to when you said the bassline was too grating? and could you explain what you meant by grating? thanks for the constructive criticism! appreciate it

ps.. the song you just posted is nice dude, just had a listen, really like the synth sounds and vocals, nice feel to it... the only thing i would say is that the synth/pad sound has a little too much sidechain compression for my liking, but other than that, nice work!

hey man, was referring to the remix track the 2nd one you posted, listening again its not as much like that as a i thought, what i meant was the mechanically sound of it, its kinda hard to explain but that might give you an idea, it kindda fits the style but i think maybe turn it down coz it seems a bit overpowering, the structure of the song seems good though in terms of the build ups etc, and some nice synths in there too.
thanks for the feedback on mine, yea someone else mentioned that about the sidechain, i think so too but i need to learn how to change the level of sidechain in fl studio! cheers

ah cool man, yeah i understand about the mechanical type sound.. cheers for the feedback ill edit the synth later on!
and how are you doing the sidechain in fl studio? using the peak controller?

what i normally do is put a peak controller on the kick, then right click on the volume of the synth buss or whatever... then click link to controller.. under internal controller choose the one that will saying something like kick - peak & lfo... then underneath where it says mapping formula, theres a little arrow next to it, click the arrow and select inverted... then where it says 1-input is where you control the level of the sidechain!

bit longwinded but so easy to do! hope this helps...

@CollisionCourse

Nice track, bass frequencies seem a bit off though. Nice old school breaks. Overall sounds a bit rough though, needs moar work.

@Jaydot

That synth is very abrasive. Snares seem to be a bit all over the place. Bass a bit boring. Sorry man, I reckon that needs quite a bit of work.

@Kontigobeats

Very nice. I've personally never been a fan of sidechaining but that's just my opinion really, I know it's a very popular sound. It works very well with the track, I love that vocal line. Good job.

Very short bit of audio here, something I'm working on. Just a basic idea atm.

Looking for feedback on.. well... anything. But particularly I'd like to know if the hi-hats work with the rest of the song or not, as well as how the overall sound is (I don't have monitor speakers, so I'm hoping it sounds ok on other equipment)

@resykle:
Love the hi-hats! maybe they are a bit sharp, but they fit well in your song.

@nruen:
Nice start for a track. Synths are a bit loud. Maybe you can play around with some hi hats and more drums?

@CollisionCourse:
Love your song but put some variations i it ;) But very nice
That break is superb!

Some DnB from me... Hope i get feedback this time ;)

Here's something I just started working on the other day. It's pretty bare. It's really just a beat and bassline with some extra effects just thrown in just to have something going on to help with some ideas. Right now The first part before the "breakdown", if you can call it that, since It's just something I threw together real quick, is what I really have done so far. I simply repeated it for the second portion of the song just to give myself a bare layout of a track to work with. It's kind of a mixture of electro and dubstep, or at least that's how I perceive. The beat, to me is very electro sounding.While the bassline has that dubstep wobble element.

I don't know if it's just the forums. But for some of you, you're tracks keep showing up as "Track Not Available". Jaydot, Kontigo and Marshy, for the passed few days I've tried to check out your tracks thinking it was just soundcloud or something, but every day I keep getting the same message. Maybe you just deleted them or changed the link name or something, I don't know. Anyway, I'll be back with some feedback once I get off work in the morning.

@ a.paul aka boydstep: REally liking the laidback vibes on this one, right up my street. Could maybe do with a little bit more percussion in the middle section as it starts to get a tad boring, or maybe just mix it up a bit. The sounds all sound pretty good. although sometimes the bass seems a little out of tune, ahrd for me to hear sub bass on my speakers tho

@Kontigo: Only criticism i really have is that the sidechaining is too much, you may have been going for this effect, but you can still use the compression a little less so the kick pushes through a lot more although the compression is less audible on the other track, if that makes sense!

@carsonac: This is a great track. Love the blip blip noises. It needs some structure to it though, and a bit more variation, possibly an entirely different section just to break it up a bit... im not sure if thats what youv planned anyway, but yeh...

Feedback appreciated on this, is a wip not too sure where its going but anyway.

@rubiconguava
really like this, everything comes together nicely and sounds good. only thing i could suggest is to do with the vocal sample, it sounds a bit stuttery and jittery

@A-list
just needs some more variation i think, i like how the vocals fit in. maybe vary the bass a bit more, other than that it's coming along nicely

here's 2 tunes i've been working on, the second one isn't dubstep but the first one i took influence from some old early grime instrumentals, lemme know what you think
