@dougriley That'll be a pretty good track with a bassline.

@paravrais I'd still call it dubstep I guess. Is it at 140? Dagobah is perfect name for it though lol. it's got a Yoda vibe haha.

I can't see how those arps sound generic. I agree the drop lacks power, I should work on that. And what do you mean by 'the musical elements are lacking quite a lot'?

As in the musical theory sounds like it needs work. I'm not really digging the melodies, makes the tune quite hard to listen to and the arps just sound exactly the same as loads of people were doing in 2009, like they were EVERYWHERE and it's just kinda boring to hear that sort of sound. Hope I haven't offended you dude just giving my honest opinion about it. :) The biggest strength of the song was the sound design, apart from the drums a lot of the sounds were quite interesting and well shaped. Providing you didn't use presets lol you did a really good job on them.

Haha pretty sick actually XD I'd finish it dude! I'd edit the vocals a little more though, her voice is hella annoying

@ kes - this track sound nice dood.. the only thing id switch up is once you drop, cut that pad out for a while than maybe bring it back in... or make a new pad with the same notes. That will kind of keep the flow going but keep things interesting.

@ brettheaslewood - I'm feeling this man..Drums are tough! The vocals dont bother me that much, but like para said, id change them up or bring them in and out. Would sound kinda cool if you glitched them out around the 1 min mark.

Nah man i'm not offended at all, i really appreciate the criticism actually! I'll work on the melodies. I like the arps though, i was kind of going for a sound with focus on sound design and add some 8bit arps in there. I agree on you that i need to work on the drums for this track, multiple people notified me on it and tbh i didn't really pay attention to the drums as i was focussing on the synth work!

And thanks a lot for the kind words on the sound design!

]Brettheaslewood: Vox sample is good but grates on me after a while. Bass needs to be turned up too. Love the ideas though man, just needs some tweaking and some variations in there. Last 20 seconds or so were sick.

Cus I posted a different track here recently, there arent new tracks for me to feedback, but any new ones after this is posted I'll have a listen to.
Started this about an hour ago. Remix of John Fruscainte's most famous solo instrumental peice "Murderers"
Soundcloud
I didn;t want to fiddle with the tempo too much, so its around 110bpm (where the original track is). So even though it's got dubstep vibes to it I don't think it can be classed as it. MAybe house or something??

Feedback mucho appreciated on this one guys. Like I say, next few tracks on here I'll give some back :)

@Kes-es the track i belive it is to sleep is beautiful honestly i could not really tell you much to change other than makeing it a little longer possibly and add a little something to the ending definetly feeling that tune though.

@ arfus this track http://soundcloud.com/arfus/sigur-ros-a ... rfus-remix nice tune the guitar or strings of whatever sort at about 1min in continuing for a while gets a little annoying not on a extent that it is a big deal ,but i think makeing the sound just a slight bit softer may help

@ Kes-s- (to sleep) yeah really like that. Agree it could be longer, maybe with some variation in the drums. Not feeling the other track to be honest.

@ Debaser- the idea with the guitar is cool but the notes cut short and it sounds a bit odd, I think on the 2nd and 4th bar of each loop but you'd have to check. Not sure if the bass sound works.

@ Sirminus- it would make a far better 4 x 4 track in my opinion. The buildup sound doesn't fit and then that bass drowns everything out. Melodically it's a bit predictable maybe, but a more interesting main synth sound could help with that. I like the vibe though by the way, because that all sounds negative.

No slight on your production at all Brettheaslewood but why would you want to remix that? I don't know if anybody could make that into a good song.

@ Arfus- yeah. Got a crazy Coki sort of sound to that bass- and I don't mean ripping him off. The whistly/reverby thing is cool. There's some crazy snare(ish) thing going on, and I think some of them fall out of time, other than that drums are cool.

Here's my latest but still looking for feedback on any of mine to be honest.

It's a bit warbly/lengthy at the moment as all of mine are.

Squabblesmynig: I really like the ideas man, it just lacks a bit of life. I wanna hear some pads or some verbs, and those drums need more punch. It has the potential to be proper sick, but just needs some oomph if you get me?

No worries. The thing that helped me a lot with drum sounds was a Stenchman Q and A on here. He said that he uses often 4 or 5 kicks and snares layered. So have a really toned down bottom heavy kick and a high end clicky one blended together
