So Barrington Levy has had some massive beef with his manager so he cant get a visa in time & wont be there. Gutting.
But on the positive front it sounds like there's been some serious inprovements been going on with the fort & the new arenas :
"**NEW ARENAS FOR 2011**
A new edition for 2011, the Harbour Arena is our biggest step-up in production to date, with a world-class soundsystem, stage and light show. Housing the Festival's live acts and headline artists the Harbour Arena provides the ideal setting for this year's musical centrepiece. Boasting idyllic views across the water to the bay of Pula, you'll hear the rumble of the Fort stages in the background as you dance from sunset to sunrise.
Another new arena for 2011 The Dockside will be open during the day for the daily Soundclash and at night hosting some of bass music's biggest artists and clubnights. Sat next to the Harbour Arena, the Dockside shares the same production value as it's big brother but differs with its dedication towards the heavier side of the line-up. With shipping containers for walls, the ocean as a backdrop and more soundsystem than the fort can handle we're sure that the Dockside won't disappoint.
Ever since we first laid eyes on the Fort we hatched a plan to one day take over The Moat and adapt it into the long stretching venue it is now in 2011. After a lengthy excavation, this amazing area is set to be one of our most impressive arenas yet. Once you plunge into this 100m long strip you'll feel the sounds of the bass reverberate off the 5 metre high walls that tower over DJ and crowd alike. A few people actually managed to fall into the moat last year, so to all those people in 2010 that couldn't wait until we actually opened this as an arena - there will be stairs this year! Easy Access!
Anyone who was at the festival last year will be aware of Mungo's Arena. Since last year the Terrace above Mungos has had further work done and this year our festival goers will be able to look down on to the bass filled pit below. From up here you also get a clear view of the city of Pula across the bay, its one of the best views in the region!"

AGHH IM SO EXCITED
New Stages sounds awesome but I have a fear of ship containers so I'll have to get over that one!
I really hope the expanded capacity doesn't change the good vibes we had last year.

Can't be assed to look through the whole thread so sorry if this question has been answered before but
1 - Do you actually need a sleeping bag? cos it's meant to be well hot i guess. I booked my flight ticket and fucking ryan air failed to mention that your ticket doesn't include booking bags onto the flight, nice one. So at the moment I only have a backpack full of clothes and thats it.
2 - Well stupid question, but as it's a english festival is the money in english or do I need to change my £££ to Croatian money?
3rdly WHOS ON BOAT 22 BOIIIIIIIIII !!!!!!

I didnt take one last year, thought I was being clever - no no! I needed one, blagged a blanket from the hostel but just take something!

Too bad about Barrington Levy, but Mad Professor should be a good replacement
Those new arenas sounding interesting and glad we are gonna be able to stand on top of mungo's arena
I hope this greater capacity is not going to ruin last year's athmosphere.. but we'll see..
This new arena, by the dock, is that were we boarded for the boats last year? Damn i can imagine during a set, ppl jumping in the sea haha..

For my flight ive got one bag underneath which atm looks to be my camping/treking bag that Ive taken to most festivals. I also want to take a tent tho
Pretty much one of these..

They come in a round circle making it too big (I think) for hand luggage. Do you think I will be able to strap it to my camping bag or do you think i should just buy an extra luggage spot on the plane for £21?

Strap it and chance it. What's the worst that could happen? They just ask you to pay on the spot if they're feeling particularly prickly. I take it you're travelling by Ryanair?

He will have to pay the extra, I do not doubt it for a second. My friends were in the same position last year.

i bet it will be more money on the day tho? Im flying with Jet2 from Leeds Bradford to Venice.
If i add this tent it will be £50+ in total on baggage. Only paying one way for the tent. Not looking to bring that fecker back.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to rent or buy a tent out there in that case? Only £20.

I've done enough festivals to know that a proper tent is something necesarry. Ive taken shoddy ones before and paid the complete price of having a shit tent. Im going to make a decision soon but either way those ones that will cost you £30 that they are providing look 'unhealthy' they are that poor.
If im spending 7 days in this tent i want a bit of quality..

Fair enough! I can't tell from the picture whether those tents are shit or not.

My biggest concern with the tents is that I assume they'll all be identical. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the odds of walking into the wrong tent/not finding your tent, and having some stranger go and crash in yours will be pretty high. Hell, that's happened to either me or one of my friends at every camping festival we've ever been too, and that was without the identical tents.

The tents that Outlook are offering look like Tesco specials in Orange with Outlook on them.
With it being abroad i can imagine a lot of people will rent and that issue of everyones looking the same could be a problem. Its never happened to me before but It depends on your group? Ive always camped in big groups of people so its never been an issue
