Not to be a dick, but that just sounds like a overdistorted bass playing a low note..

damn...thought i had something potentially good lol
got a question though is there too much activity going on in the lower frequencies? I'm working with shit speakers so I can't really tell but i just added a highpass to the bass and kick to see if maybe that improved itSoundcloud

On computer speakers atm so I can't tell, but I'd recommend you to buy Sugarbytes WOW filter if you want to make skrillex bass

I've been experimenting a long time and I'm still failboating. Thanks for all the advice though!
My best result has been using Wikipedia's formant centers to make a sound. I modulate within the important regions according to Wiki (this example is a U vowel). I still can't hear any distinct talking. Any pointers on what I'm doing incorrectly now?
EDIT: In case anyone is wondering, I don't think I modulated the peaks to span enough Hz. I tried to keep everything within the U format centers, which didn't really do too well concerning the talking. Still doesn't sound great, but it's pretty much night and day compared to my previous attempt.
Re: How To Sound Like Skrillex & Make Skrillex Bass
It's obvious that during the drop the sub bass moves with wobbles and you can here it sync perfectly... It is not just a copy of the track of the wobble track pasted into the sub bass track-> that would not lead to the wobbles being heard in the sub bass. There has to be some way of sending Massives wobbles to the sub bass. How is this done?=> preferably respond with how it would be done in Ableton w/ Ni Massive.
I know that few people probably know the actual answer to this... the rest are going to try and bullshit some sort of an answer haha but take a shot! (I have a feeling this separates great drops from average drops).

how the hell do you make the sub bass copy EXACTLY what the dubstep wobbles are doing???!

Well if I were remaking that track, I'd just automate the sub to match what the wobbles are doing. For example, in the stuttery high pitched bit (eg at 1:31), I'd put an envelope on the sub with a short decay time, making it "stab". Then it's up to some EQ and compression to get it to punch hard like it does in that track, if you want to.

interesting, Yes automating the sub to match the wobbles would work. However, I feel that this is very time consuming. I'm still feel that there is another way to do this..... maybe by sending the wobble track to some sort of a sub bass track that could read the lfo of the wobbles...
or maybe its just impossible idk lol

It is not so time consuming, just clone your wobble or whatever, make it a sine and automate a lp filter/volume the same way you've automated the midrange.

I wouldn't recommend automating from within massive. Try hooking up the volume of the sub and the cutoff on the wobble to the same automation clip if your using FL Studio, or linking them to a single knob which you then automate, or load a peak controller on the midrange track and link the volume of the sub to it.

Wow this is crazy, so many threads. Didn't Skrillex use FL and Ableton as main DAWs??

I found this remake today, don't know if you guys are aware of it, but the guy got the growl pretty right on Reason's Malstrom.
Re: How To Sound Like Skrillex & Make Skrillex Bass
I am 100% sure, that this is MASSIVE and somewhere OSC like Deep Throat or Modert Talking but WHATs da right combination of them?...and most interesting is LFO or Performer option on WT...

That reason patch is pretty nice . I tried some myself in massive playing around and all these sounds are made by myself i just need to learn how to make it a bit clearer and keep the filthy feeling in it.
