So this Cyprus thing, bigger than I thought. I thought Cypriots were just getting fuuucked by the same old people, but as I understand it now, hundreds of billions of laundered drug/mob (choose your various ethnicities) money was on the books in Cyprus, and all that money just got yanked too. Russia is having a hissy and is moving ships to the region now.

If I had savings and was in the euro zone, I'd buy a shovel and drain my accounts. Lolz, 10% of your account just vanishes, that is some funny shit.

That's 30 seconds too many. Also, I'd have to move my mouse, open a new tab, type a search, scroll, read.... Urgh. So much effort. Life is such a grind.

On the subject though, WTF?

World politics and international finance just seems to get more bonkers every single day. Something's gotta give soon. World seems like a melting pot of conflicting agendas. And the 'common' man is getting more severely trampled on all the time.

:(

Might just put my cash into bitcoins or something.

Spread that dough. But I'd keep a lions share in your physical possession. Honestly would keep some pounds, actual dollars, maybe some francs, as well as gold/silver coins (not just rounds).

--

Wonder if this thing in sk is related to chase bank here in the states zeroing out accounts. Helluv a coinkydink Cyprus acconts get drained, chase, America's biggest bank, zeros out accounts, sk's banks are shut down. It has been suggested that this is the kill switch being installed. Pretty fantastical, but really seems like there could be a connection between these events.

bitcoin is way too volatile... then again if you would've put your money into bitcoin 2 months ago, you would've almost pentupled your money. i feel like a crash is imminent though

China wouldn't mind hacking sk imho

also; 'So this Cyprus thing, bigger than I thought. this explains why they have so many (large) banks, but it makes me wonder why this didn't grasp the attention of any govt. before the colapse

is the Russian part true? If so we know whoms maffia were behind it

At the highest levels, the line between mafia and government disappears. Look at the history of directors of the CIA, and their relationship with wall st.

In the Russian case, when the Soviet Union fell apart, their intelligence organization, the kgb, spun off into private enterprise and swiftly looted the country. A lot of that money went through Cyprus because of the divided and partially lawless nature of the island. Other top governments of course knew about this, but ur thinking like there is some kind of moral or legal order amongst the authors of the world, but there is not. There is only intelligence and the application of force to achieve control.

"It is really very nearly within our grasp to be able to compute on all human generated information," Hunt said. After that mark is reached, Hunt said, the agency would also like to be able to save and analyze all of the digital breadcrumbs people don't even know they are creating.
Gold star if you can guess the agency that this gentleman works for.
