It's not really about the metal hit tbf just the overall feel of the track. Alot harder hitting, rolling, bit less of the step than uk people tend to put in it, and as if the groove is mechanical

agreed 100%, itz boring as shit now. don't mind some of it but it's far too monotonous to listen to all the time

genres or revivals i would like to see more of in 2013:

microhouse/click/minimal house (circa 2001-2003)
more proper uk garage (not 'future' garage or disclosurestep) - speed or 2 step, i'm happy with either.
breakbeat/industrial techno crossover (more stuff like randomer's latest release on hemlock)
all the stuff dusk and blackdown play

i would like to see dubstep become more inclusive again and move away from dungeon/brostep divide but thats wishful thinking

i definitely agree on the proto-dubstep/dark garage stuff too - i have very little knowledge about it but the small amount i have heard has been really good. would like to see some new producers tackle it.

Basically, most of the stuff off The Roots of Dubstep CD, Horsepower's stuff, Menta, Artwork (would say Roxy too, but you know )

^i really like horsepower and artwork but i need to get the roots of dubstep cd. will check out menta too

Think Menta was Artwork actually.

Defo recommend the CD mate, the poster that comes with it is sick too!
