Yes, assad did use chemical weapons. He even admitted it.

I don't think it's Asad's army that we fear. It's Asad's allies such as Russia that we fear retaliation from. Although Obama sais that they're trying to keep the peace with Russia and China, doesn't mean it will turn out that way.

Sorry meant to say they admitted that they were in possession of chemical weapons. But it's pretty obvious that they did use them. Not even faux news is playing that card anymore.

imo its obvious they didnt use them m8 (hit up the links i posted on previous page)

why would assad randomly gas thousands of people in a war he's winning? its just ridiculous. theres loads of sources that go against the idea that assad used them and pretty much zilch in the way of proving it was him

So who was it? It's obvious that they were used. Was it blackwater? Was it some other American mercenary agency? Who do you think it was?

the "rebels" imo, apparently they set them off accidentally and they also had no idea they were chemical weapons, they werent told what they were. as for who they are, idk; it seems that the rebels are terrorist cells who are being bankrolled from elsewhere. saudia arabia, israel, usa, idk a combination of a load of them, im not sure

Interesting and well articulated theory. It kind of makes sense. Who knows it could have been the rebels, or it could've been Asad. Unfortunately those bombs are dropping either way.

haha thx
i can be a not-retard on occasion but its rare

man its sad to hear that )-: im sure there could have been a political solution, especially with the talk of russia taking the chemical weapons out of syria... in fact, with those talks only happening a couple of days ago (or yesterday maybe, i forget(, i find it pretty suspicious that obama administration are now talking about dropping bombs, when the solution with russia seems to be more positive?

edit: btw i did generalise there, i dont think ALL of the people rebeling are terrorist cells, but im sure there are a bunch of them being bankrolled from elsewhere to stir shit up big time and cause general problems for assad

I agree that it's plausible to think that some of the rebels are being funded by outside interests. It is pretty sad that we couldn't come to a diplomatic agreement. We shall see what happens next.

If Assad puts on a smile and complies with Russia, the US, the UK, France, and the UN and removes all the chemical weapons and does whatever else they want him to do, I highly doubt the US will do any airstrikes.

Yeah but the Viet Cong was backed and motivated by the Soviet Union. It's highly unlikely that Putin is going to try to start a proxy war with the US.

Reckon he'd have a good shot of putting together a coalition if he ever pulled the trigger on the idea though. That and assuming those religious chaps could put aside their differences in-region and align.

Two main reasons;

a) Oil
b) They're secretly hoping that if they keep start enough wars with smaller nations, they'll eventually get a result like the invasion of Panama. Low risk, high visibility & return. A West Point graduate wet dream, basically.

Shell were producing 100k barrels a day, Total 27k a day, before they pulled out in 2011 due to the EU sanctions. Not to mention the est. 9trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves they reckon they've got.

On the link in my last post, hostages are talking about rebels knowingly triggering western intervention through chemical weapons... I know it's highly unlikely, but why would they lie ? I've come to give more credit to a captured professor than to the governments

i know why theyre poking them and theres a lot more to it than that, no doubt, but i meant they always go poking bears places with sticks and end up getting fucked somehow. if only they tried being nice to people. thats very not-manifest destiny though

That was actually a quote from debunked I just did it wrong. Yeah the Viet Cong was much more than the US anticipated
