Yo,
sorry for not introducing myself here earlier..

I'm 23 and from Estonia, Tallinn. I'd like to think of myself as a producer rather than DJ but due to technical difficulties i haven't produced anything for some months now (but moving slowly toward correcting this mistake tho) so lately I have spent more time on buying records and playing some bass sounds to Estonian people whenever I have a chance.
Dubstep is a very new thing in Estonia at the moment, some have heard about it, but most people haven't, and always ask at a party what is this stuff that I play. :)
Therefore I believe I'm probably standing in the frontline of Estonian dubstep 'cuz I haven't heard of any other local dubstep producers or DJs rinsing it out propa, yet. A few exceptions are maybe a couple of radio DJs who have introduced dubstep in their one-time 'dubstep special' radio shows.. mainly because Vex'd visited Kumu i believe, and also because in general it is a relatively new sound.
I'll try and do my best to spread the virus on my behalf! ;)
Drum'n bass was my main passion for about 10-11 years or so, before i discovered dubstep. There's no return now
Although I still listen to dnb as well, the priorities however have changed :)
So what else? Umm..If anyone here should visit Estonia for whatever reason, let me know beforehand.. hehee

Aiight..peace out y'all !

Hiya,

Don't know if I should be bumping an old thread but I wanted to introduce myself properly. English guy living in Kyoto, Japan. I've been into the sound since I downloaded Kode9's Babel Mix from Gutterbreakz, probably a couple of years ago now. Been following the scene through the Internet since then, but I haven't really had anything to post until now so I've just be lurking around this forum (and the usual websites).

The reason I sort of have a reason to post now is because I'm living away from the centre of the dubstep scene so I've never been to any events and I've never heard dubstep through a system   So, I decided to stop sitting around waiting for the opportunity to arise and instead get some decks, learn to mix and do it myself. Few weeks ago got the Technics and now I'm hoping that next year after a few months of practice I'll be in a position to play out somewhere and hopefully get some parties going here in Kyoto. Any other Japan heads on here please get in touch!

I'd like to contribute to the scene in any small way I can, so if anyone needs gig information, etc. translated into or from Japanese please let me know!

That's all really...except, big up all the producers, DJs and everyone in the scene. And especially Skream, bad boy producer; I just had to get 2 copies of Skreamizm 2 to learn to mix with!

Since you're ^ uppin this thread..figured i might as well add on.

'sup.

nickname is jinx- recently discovered dubstep (and barefiles...doooope site)...i'm pretty late to the whole dnb, grime and dubstep scene. just discovered it last year when i was living in europe.

....I'm hiphophead- grew up on the classics (EPMD, Tribe, the Roots)- but diggin' loads of stuff from the underground scene stateside, up north here in Canada, and the UK (loving so much stuff coming out of london- kano, jehst, foreign beggars, poisonous poets, etc).

I don't DJ, produce, emcee, etc. lol...but I did used to work as a promoter- and hope to start my own entertainment law firm and/or event company. So if anyone needs to get their contracts right...

I'm diggin' all the myspaces of the DJs and soundcrews on here. So if you see a canadian girl asking for the add- it's me =)

peace.

ez all dubstepperz,

i'm from skandinavia, finland. i've been 'into' jungle & drumnbass sound since early nineties and also released coupla singles on labels like formation, audio couture etc, under alias dice. i heard dubstep first time somewhere around year ago and i was immediatly hooked, totally hooked.

right now i run two radioshows, one in finland and other one in estonia. besides this i also promote coupla clubnights here. so yes, my life is mostly all about music.

i also used to run drum'n'bass label called mangofunk, and i've seriously though about launchin a small label in future focusin into dubstep/elektronic sound.

i look forward to hookup with all dubheadz and try to help this music to get recognition it deserves.

peace!

sup all, I'm 23, used to live in the toronto area but I moved to vancouver 2 months ago ;)

I used to be into dnb for quite a bit, produced tunes for a while on my own, and collaborated many with dj sek. Had a remix released, but quit eventually because i decided to focus more on my career

Anyway, I eventually got sick of dnb and discovered dubstep, and here I am :)

I'm here for the + vibez

Is it just me or is it like all the ego's in the drum and bass scene collided creating a devistating catastrophic implosion .....

and when the dust cleared all you could hear is the lub....lub...lub.lub.lub.lub sound of a monstrouse subwoofer beconning us all back to the place where it all started....

suddenly tracks are free, people smile at the club, people share ideas and show each other there musical secrets, tribes start nonprofit record labels......
its like producer utopia in here....

I'm here to stay for a while....luv D-Program aka Drifter_SF

Hi just got involved.

Been listening to Dubstep for a couple of years now but used to prefer Grime. Seen the error of my ways and just started DJing so thought I'd see whats up on the forums.

Hello from S.E. London

been lurkin' in the bushes outside the forum... thought I should get on board. Always had a focus on the heavier, darker side of music.. I came to dubstep through a path of metal, dnb, downtempo and breaks... Because of these influences, I fell in love with the diversity of the dubstep sound a while ago - long before I knew what it was - ups to m'boy Ytee for the enlightenment.
And.. much appreciation to you lot for the recent respect and kind words on the PiqueMedia project. Hope you all enjoy your new shirts...

Amazing vibe all.
