I think the question about whether or not 'Zwarte Piet' is racist is the wrong one to ask. It's a guy in black make-up who does look like an old black stereotype, but within the modern context of the celebration and with a non-racist intention behind it, I don't believe it's necessarily racist (though it can be if you have Sinterklaas hurling racist abuse at his slaves or something). On the other hand, you can still empathize with people who are made uncomfortable by it given Europe's history with slavery and racism and not push their holiday on immigrants who don't wish to participate.

People should just mind their own business and both sides should stop victimizing themselves. Essentially, it's an argument about how other people spend their free time. And using a media circus and government to get people to do it their way.
