burgeamon - also followed lol, like i posted on ur sc, sucker for piano and strings, im sure something a bit more constructive could be said, but i honestly cant think of it. listened to it twice big ups.
evader - really loved everything in this track except i personally didnt feel like that wobz fit when they were hitting higher pitches, sounded really good when they were at low points though. really liked the atmosphere of this track

an unusual night for me really like some of wips enough for me to look further into the producer! thanks for the listens guys look forward to hearing those i followed on SC :D

@Evader: That's some proper vibes you got going! I like it a lot, sounds like the kind of song you would want to listen to in the car on your way home from a shitty night. That's a compliment. Call me a brostepper or whatevs, but I'd love to hear some "deeper" and more intense bass on the drop (around 2:20) other than that (which is just a personal preference of mine) it sounds great:)
@BeastModeForDummies: Some kind of pad or background "noise" on the melody at the start would be lovely. Great percussion though, really dig the kick. Overall a nice intro, would love to hear a whole song!
@Cubicle: Left a comment on yer SC!

Here's a little idea I came up with very very early this morning while I was messing around in Massive, please take your time to give it a listen and let me know what you think, if it's a track worth "expanding", and so on!

@citizane - Those drums are sounding tight man. Huge snare - love it. The bass sounds post-drop could do with quite a lot less distortion. Try making gritty sounds in other ways (waveshaping, detuning, phasing, FM synthesis etc...). Some of the LFO modulation is a little awkward - it loses the beat occasionally. Apart from that (and expanding the tune into a full length one) I can't really think of anything else at this point. Looking forward to hearing it when it's more polished, it's got a real Excision & Datsik sound to it. Nice one.

@Evader - Really loving the vibe of this tune, although parts of the melody sound really familiar. Your second snare sound (kicks in around 2:17) needs a little more body, but not much, and also sounds quite dry. The sub on your bass sound needs to be much more powerful (though not necessarily hard-hitting). Want the drop to whomp you in the face, but chill you out at the same time (if that makes any sense :P). Looking forward to more from you.

@BeastModeForDummies - Mate. That kick. Uh. So nice :) Loving the feel of the build, although I reckon it could be even bigger than that. Try bringing out the piano and fading it back in with the kick roll, maybe adding higher and higher notes as you get closer to the drop. I reckon a sample from a movie or TV show would really make that too. Maybe just record something yourself - I do that sometimes. An automated filter on some white noise would really ad a lot to it, especially with a metric fuck-ton or reverb and a touch of phasing. I reckon your triangle is a little loud, and your snare is a little lacking. Needs some more crunch. Try layering some more sounds in there - maybe a few claps and some more snares. A quiet kick in your snare sound adds a nice amount of punch to it too. Properly excited about this one :)

Here's my WIP. Got bored today and just had a play around with some sounds. Not too much of a fan of it so far, but I'd like to be. It's not mastered at all yet, just looking for some advice on the structure, arrangement, sound design etc... Cheers.

@BeastModeForDummies - Nice melody and percussion, kick is heavy. definately needs a bigger snare though. sample fits well. overall great flow to your track :)
@Evader - Intro has a great feel, bit too repetitive though. second half is lacking energy. nice chilled tune keep it up :)
@citizone - Drums sound professional, bit too much distortion on kick though. work on your baselines they're a bit weak. has potential just needs better quality sounds :)

Made this today would appreciate feedback, thank you

@ninthy4 ... that intro is dangerous. Love the drop! Exactly my type of beat. Huge track mate!

@t3h Solid intro. I like it. The bassline needs some more top end, it sounds very muffled, but I did notice you said its not mixed. You could maybe switch up the bassline half way through the first drop, and maybe switch it up a bit on the second drop. Aside from that I do like it and it has lots of potential.

@Rebel it's a bit flat. I use MPC's and the SP1200 to do my Hip Hop, not really a fan of the new skool type Hip Hop, strictly old skool so my view is probably bias. Nice attempt though. On another note, paean-dub is fire. Love it.

@Evader a bigger bassline is needed. Add more timbre to the bass, give it a bit of character. I like the synths running through the back though. Nice and mellow, with a hint of girt.

@Burgeamon I fell off my chair dude. That was nasty! (in a good way). Fully feeling that track. I need to take a listen on my monitors later, aside from that I can't really fault it. The long intro works imho.

@jakedubber Feeling that bassline. The into and breakdown gets a bit repetative imo. Transitions could probably do with a bit more work.

@x902 Basslines need to be much bigger. They sound tinny. Second drop has some nice potential.

Sorry, got no WIP atm, but have some freestyles. Both are me, I got to many soundclouds under to many aliases. Both beats are mine, think first was on the SP1200 was a while back.

x902- nice intro, i like the vocals samples a lot man, havent heard salad fingers in a while ;). maybe a bit more verb on the snare in the intro. what id suggest is turning the midrange down a tiny bit and adding more sub underneath to give it some more weight. apart from that, this is fucking huge man.

jakedubber- good intro. i like the ambience of the melody synth on top, maybe work on a couple of the wobble sounds though , a couple of them sound a bit cheap. the tracks got a nice feel to it so far though mate so keep at it and itll be a good tune.

citizane- love the drums, very datsik-esque. take soem of the distortion/bitcrush off the wobbles and work on the patches more, they could be a lot dirtier but youv gone a bit overboard on fx. apart form that its a huge track mate nice one.

heres my tune, apologies if its a tad quiet its mixed down to be mastered so its at roughly -4db-

@citizane, really liking the drums and the groove. snare sounds good. as for the drop, it is pretty sick, i would just change the mids a little bit. it sounds too reverby. loving the old school vibes though.

@jake dubber- i love the fat energy you got going on

@cheeky- your track has potential, there just needs to be more going on.

Haven't produced anything in like a week, started messing with some 115bpm stuff today, made this track out of boredom... glitchy/house/wtf stuff - not really dubstep. Just noticed it sounds completely different on my laptop compared to my PC, on the same headphones, so I have no idea how it will sound on monitors/speakers etc. It sounds really shit when I play it via my laptop lol... anyways:

Soundcloud
(Unfinished, unmastered, made on headphones etc.)

Edit: I just listened again to my track, it sounds really weird played from my laptop on the same headphones I used to write it on my PC. I think I'll reupload a better mixed version in a little while, for now sorry that it may sound like utter shit. :6:

Feedback for others:

@BeastModeForDummies: Nice intro and really nice drum work. Can't really say much else since it cuts before the drop, although I'd say give the kick a bit more punch.

@Evader: Your track is mellow as fuck, I love stuff like this. I like the way you bring in the drums and slowly build upto the piano riff. Nice drum work too upto the drop, but I think the drop needs to be more defined to split up the track. Also do I hear the Depthcharge synth from Sytrus around 2:10 :P

@citizane: Your drums are heavy man, really nice kick. Imo the main bass needs to be less agressive it sounds overly distorted. I like your glitching though.

@jakedubber: Nice man, love how you slam the bass down. I really like the chilled "oooh" vocal background stuff. I think you need more body, maybe add some low level pads or a main melody lead that follows the bass notes?

@x902: That vocal sample is creepy lol, reminds me kinda of Aphex Twin's stuff. Only thing I'd say is your basses on the 2nd part get slightly repetitive. Maybe mix them up rather than using the synths solo and add in some more sub bass?#

I'll give feedback to the people I missed on this page later today.

@mthrfnk
real cool synth lines and glitch effects. Everything in the song production wise is awesome, only thing I can say is the mix needs fine tuning but you already said that.
Good to hear something different.
and yeh that is definitely the depthcharger :4: , I always use it at first when I want that lowering pitch bass line. I'll make my own bass to fit there before the final mixdown though.

@jakedubber
awesome intro, similar to the vibes I like to try to make in my stuff.
Bassline is nice and deep, I like the slower heavy vibe you got going on.
On the second drop I would have liked to hear more shuffling hats but thats just a personal preference of mine.
cool track

@ x902
very cool track, salad fingers sample was cool to hear
excellent atmosphere throughout the whole track.

@cheeky
I loved this track
Though at about halfway through the first drop it would have been good to hear the deeper bass start to speed up to give that feel of a drop inside the drop.
But again thats just a personal thing I like to do with my tracks, and as it is sounds awesome.

@yoitsfrank
mad tune, all I can say!
I'm listening on headphones so I can't comment on the mix itself, but sounds great

Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback, today I'm going to work on making the intro of mine more interesting, cleaning up the mids and making the drop really stand out. Hope to hear some more tunes

-evader

EDIT:
Soundcloud
Added some change ups to the piano and am starting to mess with the mids in the drop to get a better tone.
also messed with the sound of the snare that comes in at the drop

@beastmodefordummies - nice vibe bro, kick is way to big, turn it down a touch, oh man i was waiting for the drop and it never came ha ha!! maybe you should get the drop sorted out before you post it up here, i know this is a tracks in progress page, but thats just teasing bro!!

@citizane - cool name bro, good vibes going on in the intro, i like the scratching , kick is way to bassy, give it some eq bro. nice drop!! bro with some eqing lessons and some good advice on ya mix down this could be a good track, but as it is, the bass is totally drowning out the drums on a major scale, work at it man!! good shit

@jakedubber - chilled out feel to the intro, i like !! looking forward to see what happens..... boom!! thats some deep shit bro, nice one, big fan of the weird synth thats going on, the bass lines are phat, i wouldn't break it down so soon, but shit, keep at it bro you have some nice sounds in the mix, kick is nice, i would beef the snare up a bit .

@ GV1 give me a ACAPELLA i dig your style, have a listen to a track i did with expression on my sound cloud here http://soundcloud.com/darkist-dubstep if you like what you here i would be keen to work with ya, hit me up on SC bro

@cheeky - like the vocals, tis very quiet as ya say, filth!!!!!!!! what a freaky bass line , i'm digging what i hear, maybe a clap layered over ya snare would sound cool, good work on the sub bass bro, keep doing what ya doing man

@evader, fucking nice vibe to your intro bro, proper creepy feel to it, but melodic at the same time. you need to work on your eq a bit, the mix is a bit muddy, what a sweet build up ...........mids sound alot better once the tune kicks in, try to make more of an impact to your drop,

Here is my track been at it for a few days, just keen on some FB before i finish it up, CHUR!!!

@yoitsfrankd, I like the kick, the intro kick. Vox are Eq'd a bit harsh, a bit too much in that upper mid region. The snare sounds like it could use some work. Sounds a bit flat to me. Also the kick comes through but the snare doesn't after the drop, it sounds buried. Maybe eq out some space for it or some side chaining. Like the chopped up synth parts, particularly at the end of the phrases, but it sounds like the synth could use a bit more movement (obviously not in the wobbling, but in the synth sound itself), love the sub bass falls. Really nice so far.

@poadude, really like the idea behind the second one, nice sidechaining, like the kick, snare (or snare clap) seems pretty good, could maybe use a bit of light distortion and maybe some compression to bring it out a bit. Also the saw wave portions of the synth need to be beefed up as they sound a bit weak next to everythin else going on, distortion, eq, maybe some like chorus and or reverb, etc.

@darkdubz, really like this so far. Really nice snare, kick is ok, could stand to be beefed up a bit more maybe with that snare though. Like the glitchy vox. Sub sits real nice. The main synth sounds like it could use a bit of EQ (could just be the soundcloud quality though). Also maybe some change up from the faster pace gating sound in the main synth to maybe some envloped (or slow up ramped lfo) quarter notes (just in idea, but it aint my track so). Also the really soft little lead that comes in about 1:40 makes it sound a bit too major (key wise) for me. I like the idea behind it but maybe use different notes? Just some thoughts. Really nice so far.

Alright, I'm not so sure if my song is dub as much as it could be something else... if that makes any sense. Help me decide? haha I gave up on this months back but not sure if I should keep going.

Soundcloud

@Darkist
I really liked the intro. After it went silent after the first phrase the delay was sweet. Plus all the ambiance.

@Evader
The whole tune was sweet, especially the saw every once in a while. But I think the wobble could have been.... harder? I don't know haha. Like, rather than a little sine sounding synth with a cutoff make it more... have it have more grind if you get what I mean.

@darkdubz - sounds good mate everything sounds pretty crisp. not a fan of that vocal sample tho

@Evader - like some of the sounds. kick doesn't really fit the intro imo maybe its a tiny bit too loud. the intro bit is really long you should shorten it a bit and also get bit more of a sub going on after the drop

@cubicle - Drums are sounding nice that bass is ok but i think it could be a little bit better. i reckon all the track could do with is a subtle dark sounding pad to add some more atmosphere and make it a bit more interesting.

Don't watch intro:

@cmgoodman1226 sick beat mate. only thing i'd say is maybe open up a bit more low end on the "lead " sound. nice reverb. nice bass. i like it!

@Evader I agree with Wizeguy. need a sub for a definite. maybe make more of the "arpegiated" sound. try an exiter or whatever to stand out.

@jakedubber Like the vibe of this. maybe a couple more bpm and a tidy up of the mix. love the sub drop!

@ Standby - Digging the chillness of the track, I'd prolly raise the volume on the 8 bit sounds, make them stand out abit more, but altogether sounds good man!

@ wizeguy - Not really my style, but It is pieced together pretty well. Everything sounds good and eq'd correct. I'd prolly step the claps down a bit, not use as many or just change up the pattern. Reminds me of an old video game... :D

@ cmgoodman - Posted on your track on Soundcloud. Also, i'd add some variation in the wobble patterns.
